Thanks man, one of your guildies threw me an invite in game. Just getting settled in and did my first ‘fire ele’ earlier. Actually I did it twice because the first time I fell off the bridge and missed the fight…. Lets not mention that again though eh!
Hopefully get a run tonight!
Hi Al, I’ve added you as a friend by accident when searching for you! Sorry man, anyway, thanks for the offer.
How are you guys for dragging my sorry kitten through dungeons as I learn them? I know some people will just want to get through and get their rewards without having to worry about me and that’s cool, but not really what I’m looking for at this stage.
Sounds interesting though, thanks for the reply!
Well I respecced, crafted some lvl 30 gear with power & precision on and went with bombs..
Wow, what a difference, I don’t even worry about dying now. I’m chucking bombs all over the place and mobs are just falling around at my feet while I’m barely taking any damage!
Initially I was wary of wearing medium armour and closing to within melee range especially without my healing turret but man, groups of mobs can’t touch me before they’re exploding. I carry my healing elixir but rarely use it, and the buff elixir (is that ‘boon’ in GW2?) comes in handy to speed up killing and increase survivability.
I don’t have the elixir gun yet, I’m a couple of skill points away from my elite skill so I’ll pass on that for now.
As far as my mouse goes, it’s a RAT 5, I should really play around with some keybinds.
Thanks for the advice!
Hi mate, thanks for the advice. Maybe I should swap out that +condition for +power!
As for playstyle, I’m reluctant to change as I enjoy using the turrets but I guess it’s something I should look into if my current playstyle isn’t really viable for dungeons.
Problem I have sometimes is changing between kits quick enough to react to the situation I guess, that’s probably one of the reasons I like to stick with pistols, suppose I should give it a go again…
Thanks again.
So in the last few days I found the time to level up an engineer as my first real go at a character, I’m after some tips…
I like to dual wield pistols and I like having 4 turrets at hand. I’m currently lvl 28 and have my healing/gun/flame/rocket turrets ready to drop whilst I use pistols.
Traits… I have the firearms (can’t remember if that’s what it’s called) trait up to 10 pre but not sure which ‘sub trait’ to choose for the 10 points. I have also put 8 points into another trait that gives +crit damage I think.. Sorry, I’m posting from my phone.
Gear wise, I’m focused entirely on +precision and +condition damage (what is that?) as they seem to go hand in hand on gear/gems.
So yeah, is this all workable? Any tips?
Hi,
So, I bought GW2 on release as I’d gotten burnt out on WoW. Turns out I was actually burnt out on MMO’s in general. Well I’ve been off work with an injury lately so I’ve started from scratch and have been levelling an engineer.
So yeah, I’m based in the UK and currently play during the day and evenings, and once I get back to work in a month or so (hopefully!) I’ll be playing in the evening.
I’m learning a new MMO all over again after playing WoW for several years so tolerance of dumb questions would be ideal. The thing I’m missing at the minute are 5 man dungeons. I used to enjoy those (mostly as a healer) and could spend each evening just doing dungeons for the hell of it. I’d like a guild that is going to go easy on me and with a bit of luck we’ll be able to put together some groups for casual dungeon runs without the ‘gogogogogo’ attitude that WoW players are famed for!
That about covers it I think, any questions just reply here I guess. Thanks in advance.
Seems like a weird one to me, is this something Anet would fix pretty quickly or not?
