Problem: When wearing Perfected Envoy (Legendary) Chest Armor for at least Light and Medium weights, wielding a shield has it float a feet from your character’s forearm.

It is understandable (though should still be fixed in my opinion) that it would float a little in the back to avoid clipping as promised, but it currently also float besides your wrist with no possible source of clipping should it be properly attached.

Was tested practically as in exemple picture, as well as in the equipment preview with different characters for both the medium and the light armor pieces (no test on heavy armor were done).

Thank you.

Floating Shield With Legendary Armor

I finished crafting my legendary light armor set and was deeply disapointed to see that my shield was floating, both when stowed and, most importantly and in a much more noticeable way, when equipped. I first thought it was a feature of the specific shield I had at the time (having not played mesmer in a while, I assumed I could have forgotten how that shield was supposed to look), but I went to confirm with another one and realized how terribly wrong I was. I found out that the shield floats when either the legendary chest armor or gloves are equipped. The gloves I can understand, having those spikes that would definitely clip right through the shield ( thought that doesn’t make the issue any less sad), but the armor has no apparent impact on any possible clipping and that huge gap it creates makes it basically unusable by mesmers that care to look half-decent in a non-silly way. I’m not asking for any quick resolution to this issue, but knowing it is at least known and being looked at would reassure me that I didn’t waste so much gold making that set and seeing it appear in the Known Issues tracker would definitely make my day.

Thanks for your time.
