Actually I was thinking about buying external graphics card but since prices for thunderbolt adapters are not dropping really as of yet I for now gave up this idea:)

Hey Boridind, what about pvp? i have tried so many things and on high graphics option and was perfectly fine, but then again im not surprised as i used to play WoW and didn’t have any massive issues.
but im just worried about pvp and big world events, guess i would have to wait and try

Well as I said I never really had any issues regarding sudden slideshow or similar stuff. And most of the time I do WvW, obviously often in some bigger groups against similar sized groups which sometimes gives easily 50-60+ ppl on the screen. I have to say that I had bigger problems while doing Drek with 20-30 ppl around me.

And Ceribis is right, as long as there are no sudden drops in framerate (often caused by other stuff than bad GPU) there is no reason to concern. Especially if as you say you are getting 30+ fps.

Could you btw post your settings? Asking cos you seem to be getting a bit better performance than I do (in my case it’s 20-30).

Current spec is:

Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5,
Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3,
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB,
Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2

So pretty much similar to yours. I have to admit that I am forced to play on pretty much lowest possible settings except antialiasing which I have enabled. In WvW it’s usually easy 20 fps or around. As for latency and other performance issues never really experienced that so far.

Overally it’s not really perfect but good enough to have fun.

Well I am using HD 3000 myself and game works decently although I manually edited config file (you should fine some info on this forum) for performance reasons and ofc I am running it on lowest settings.

I strongly advice you to start with tweaking config file. You can find it in Library/Application Support/Guild Wars 2 (in your user folder).

Frosty, yeah, you are right, but that guy then was using old GMA and wanted to play. Obviously HD 3000 is not really that great but it definitely can handle GW2 at least on low settings.

Why does GW2 Run under 20 fps ?

It would be a good question to ask about his graphics card and how much RAM his iMac has
