Hey guys. I was wondering what professions fit each race the best lore wise. Can’t wait to see what you guys say, but here’s mine:
Elementalist: Asura
Asura have major ties to alchemagical things, and because of this I think they would have a knack for elements and magic as a whole.
Warrior: Norn or Charr
Norn are giant, strong barbarians; warriors seem like an obvious choice for these guys. Spirit of the bear seems to fall under ‘warrior type.’ Like the Norn, the Charr are strong and agile making for some of the best warriors. Plus the whole Blood Legion thing.
Guardian: Human or Norn
Humans always have that ‘holy warrior’ vibe to me, my opinion may have been influenced from World of Warcraft. I could see Norn as well because of ‘protecting the spirits.’ This seems to fit under the Guardian description.
Necromancer: Asura?
I actually had a hard time figuring out which race fit this profession the best. I guess Asura just because of the reasons I had previously stated under Elementalist.
Ranger: Sylvari or Norn
Sylvari seem to be the agile elves. Agile and elves, first things that come to my mind ‘archer.’ Norn are referred to as great hunters, so this is just my logic.
Engineer: Charr
Charr were the first to invent guns, they have the Iron Legion, and they have steampunk influences. Charr seems the best fit for this profession.
Thief: Charr, Asura, Human, Sylvari
I think any race fits the thief playstyle except Norn. The Norn just seem clunky to me. Although I could see someone making an argument of Norn being lore friendly because of the Snow Leopard spirit.
Mesmer: Asura?
Once again, they’re magically inclined. What can I say?
So, what do you guys think?
I can’t even download the latest patch. Mine is stuck at 0 kb/s at 0% on the patch screen. Oh well, I’ll just try again tomorrow, and if it still doesn’t work… I’ll figure it out.

Hey guys,
I recently have started to get back into GW2 and play on my old character, which works fine. However, I have recently wanted to start over and create a new character, but when I click “Create” the screen is completely black. I’ve waited for 10~ minutes and still no result. I still have control over the cursor, and the music still plays, but the screen is just completely black.
I have already looked up this issue on Google. People suggested putting the setting on “Maximum Performance” which I did with no results. Any help would be appreciated.
