Guild Wars 2

Joined these guys today. They are very welcoming and an active bunch. No regrets.

Hey everyone!

Before I get into what I look for in a Guild, I’ll mention a little about myself…

My name is Sonny and I’m currently living in the UK as an 18 year old in education, namely college. I game in my spare hours and often am a heavy gamer when I don’t have exams surrounding me. Sadly being in college, a lot of my time does go into studying so I tend to go inactive at different times throughout the year. Anyway, other than that I tend to be quite active as I love to game!

I play sort of a variety of games, including RTS, FPS, and MMORPG’s. However, initially I began with MMO’s, later on moving into FPS then RTS. Recently though my clan has sort of disbanded or at least the people I used to play with have pretty much given up or moved on. With that being said I decided to move back into MMO’s; Guild Wars 2 in this case. I bought Guild Wars 2 when it first came out and played, got my self to level 80 as a warrior with other minor level characters here and there. I never really got into a guild and so decided to give it a go now as I reckon I’ll get into this game a little more seriously. Despite this, soon after level 80, I left the game but now have returned. To be more frank, I have a lot to learn about this game – take me as a ‘noob’ in other words!

So being someone who has a lot to learn and wishes to progress into the game again, I look for a Guild with the following:

- A Guild which is patient with its members.
- A Guild which has people willing to help others out, in terms of game knowledge and game play (as I’ll probably be asking a lot of questions about the game).
- A Guild with an active Teamspeak server – IMO this should be the priority as I reckon this really makes any game enjoyable – to be able to speak to your friends while playing.
- An active forum and website, in order to allow us to communicate outside of the game. Also this shows to me a bit of dedication and organisation is involved in the Guild so I’ll be more inclined to join.
- A Guild filled with laughter, respect and motivation to play.
- A Guild which regularly or commonly plays WvWvW and PvP.
- A Guild which is active in the late afternoon and evenings, during GMT hours as I live in London, as well as on weekends.

We, Solis Ortus, are a new community that recently established ourselves in Guild Wars 2 as one of our campaigns, and we are also UK based, although we accept members from almost all nationalities provided they speak English to a good level of fluency and accuracy. However, because we are new we are still quite small, yet with hopes of growing! Most our players are in the 16-20’s category so we’re a little young but mature nevertheless. We’re looking for players who are forum active and enjoy playing GW2 as a group on teamspeak. Most of us are playing in the GMT time zone and are playing on the Aurora Glade server.

If you’re lenient on the server then come over to Far Shiverpeaks. I’m representative of Solis-Ortus and reckon judging from your age, I reckon you are perfect for us. I’ll throw you a shot for joining Solis-Ortus. We’re quite a new community and guild but with dedicated administrators, along with the help of the community members, we expanded into Guild Wars 2. With this, it’s clear that we are a small guild, majority of us being 16+, mainly going from 17’s to the mid 20’s. We accept elder and younger applicants if we feel they are right for us. We’re playing in Far Shiverpeaks currently and most of us are playing around the GMT time zone!

I’ll recommend Solis Ortus as we’re a community who have the intentions to cater all sorts of players from the heavy gamer to, like yourself, the light weight family guy. We’re quite small at the moment as we’ve recently set up but hope to expand as we progress. We’re looking for players who are forum-active even if they are not in-game active. We understand you have real like commitments – with that in mind I reckon it’s worth giving a go joining us.

We are currently playing in Far Shiverpeaks, and our current members play around the GMT time zone!

I don’t want to sound too detached from this but I’ll keep it short and simple.

We’re recently opened our Guild and we’re quite small; Solis Ortus. If your criteria is a small yet active guild, then I think we’d suit you. We aim to expand in the near future but for now we have to a lot to do, to reach the objectives we’ve set for ourselves. That being said, we’re mainly aiming for the success of our community as a whole, and although we have other campaigns under the Solis-Ortus name, we’re looking for people who are willing to engage with the community as a whole, not just the Guild Wars 2 section. Along with this, we’re also looking for people who are forum-active or regularly check it.

If you haven’t found the guild you’re looking for yet, I reckon it’s worth a shot joining us. I’d just like to add that most of us play in the GMT time zone and are playing in Far Shiverpeaks currently.
