Could we seriously get something done about this? It’s quite frustrating to have this be the only thing standing between you and your ascended/legendary equipment.

S/P supplies you with all you need on one weapon set. That said, if you wish to play actively I recommend P/D+D/P for the fastest killing of a single target you’ll ever achieve.

With P/D you can literally kite forever using your dodges, Dancing Dagger, Withdraw, Shadowstep and Shadow Strike. If the enemy closes on you for some reason you can simply use C&D and position yourself for Sneak Attack while regaining the gap. This is tremendously effective for killing Veterans, Champions and high HP normal mobs. Another considerably powerful tactic for dropping things in four attacks is to just run directly at your target over-and-over spamming Shadow Strike, though this is a good way to suck up initiative. These abilities and tactics make P/D essentially god-mode for fighting any melee oriented mob.

With D/P you simply use Shadow Shot to close distances, immediately drop Black Powder and then use Heartseeker to gain stealth, Backstab and then either repeat or simply strafe until you have enough initiative to do so. If enemies have long wind-up ranged attacks Head Shot will allow you to do some damage while interrupting the skill, at which point you can then begin your chain anew or simply Heartseeker the mob into the floor. Much like P/D making melee mobs trivial, D/P does the same for any ranged attackers you may encounter as they just cannot run fast enough.

S/P is only the best if you feel like standing still and smacking things to death, in which case you’d be better off just rolling a warrior- but who would want to do that?

Having terrible trouble with “LoS”…

I can vouch for this, not sure how to prove it though. I noticed it when fighting the Flame Legion Shaman in Iron Marches and thought I was simply having projectiles reflected at me, but then it happened while trying to Rapid Fire one of the Embers.

Definitely needs to be looked into ASAP.

So is it 50% or 100%, some claim one way, others the opposite. Guess I’ll test it when i get a chance to play.

It’s 50%. Using Vipers Nest is the best way to see this because of its duration. From 5 seconds one would expect to see 10 with the trait if it was double. But in practice (and on the tool tip) the poison is only applied for 7.5 seconds (actually 7).

The trait also states 50%.

Traps were already useless without that old trait. With the new nerf, basically the chill/burn trap will only apply 1 sec of burn and not 2 sec (rounded down). Basically UTTERLY useless. And traps are already worse then necro wells.

Anet this patch was a disappointment, but another massively uncalled, undeserved stealth nerf really is the worst you did so far. I sincerely hope you come in here, apologizing and saying it’s a bug rather then stealth nerf, but my hopes are pretty low.

I’m trying to tell you that there has been no nerf from my own testing. Just a mistake on the trait description. The skill descriptions of the traps are showing and the actual effects continue to have a 100% increase of condition duration. I have now tested all 4 traps numerous times and they all are acting just as they did before this update.

Use Vipers Nest, the increase is only 50%, the problem with using a 1s duration timer is that 50% takes you to 1.5 which will be rounded upwards to 2s a tick. With all the other traps, the trait says 50%, the tool-tip says 50% and the applied condition is only there 50% longer.

Test everything before making an uninformed post please…

And here’s another question: Was there even a Pet health boost in PvE?!

The tooltip for My Jaguars health is identical to pre-patch?

I’m not seeing the 71% ?

I’m willing to bet there hasn’t been a single change to pet health at all unless they boosted the baseline stats. My wolf still has 2061 Vit, no more, no less…

More empty promises.

No, you’re not understanding, I’ve tested the durations and they only increase by 50% as compared to the original…

“Conditions caused by traps last twice as long and traps recharge 20% faster.”

so again I have to ask, am I the only one with this issue, is it a bug, or is ANets balance team really too busy patting each other on the back over their absolute ignorance to play this class and do something intelligent?

So yesterday, Trap Potency doubled the duration of conditions applied by traps…

Today? 50% bonus. Am I the only one with this issue, is this a bug, or is ANet really this ignorant?
