Perhaps I should revise my original post. I wont edit the OP however I’ll reply.

I think I’m annoyed more with the pure luck on drops. With the direction anet are heading in on making precursors obtainable through collections (something the community has been crying for, since the games release) it baffles me that they continue to have items in game that are for the select few that get very lucky.
The items I specifically made reference to in my original post were the Fractal skins (many people still looking for that sword), The Fractal tonic (over 200~ 41+s and counting) the very rare halloween/silverwastes accessory that gives your character a special glow.

Random tangent here :/
One reason I bring this up is that they are giving players a chance test the beta if they do the content anet tells them to do
I have to stop my daily dungeon tour/fractal tour (that has plenty of mobs to farm btw) to help test the new stuff? I already have my Bio luminescent set, I farmed that when it was released. Why am I being punished for playing elements of the game I enjoy
okay back to the thread

It’s great that these items exist in the game. It’s great that they are very rare. But implement something for those that have farmed Fractal 41+ and received no reward repeatedly every day sometimes a way to get these things.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not under the impression that games shouldn’t have some rng involved. It’s nice to get a super rare skin from a monster that only a few other people have. But actually, if it’s a skin I can’t use / don’t have a character I actively play on to use then it’s no good to me whatsoever.

There should always be a way to get items such as these. I’m not saying they should be easy to get by any means, I just feel there should be a light at the end of the tunnel. There should be some target you can meet to get what you want. It’s pretty disheartening to see someone run their first 50, get a Fractal Sword (the one you’ve been wanting since you began fractals at launch) and then they never play a character that uses the sword. (This isn’t personal experience by the way)

I am all for the ascended weapons/armor being rng as with the rings. They at least can be obtained after doing X amount of Fractals (Pristine). Logging in X amount of days (Laurels). Fractal skins on the other hand just are so RNG based that you could very feasibly never get the one that you want.

New Party Kicking Mechanic is Unfair!

I’ve somewhat read through this thread and can see both sides. The problem is that the LFG tool does allow us to recruit for dungeon paths. We can put in whatever we want including and I think actually for the purpose of this discussion, most importantly, language.
The fact we can specify the language opens up the entire concept that we have the authority to set requirements for our parties.
If I am in a party of 3 and we want to make a LFG saying:

AC p1p2p3 80s only 2 ele’s please.

Then I am expecting 2 eles to join the party. That is what the group I am a part of (not saying it’s my group, but the group wants) 2 eles.
If a Thief and a Mesmer join is it wrong of the 3 original members to kick those 2?
Not at all. They requested 2 eles, that is what the team requires.

If I am in a party of 2 and we want to make a LFG saying:

AC p1p2p3 80s only

Then I am expecting level 80s to join. That is what the party wants and that is what people should join on.
If 3 low level friends join, and refuse to leave, or kick the 2 level 80s then there is a problem. It will either force the level 80s to leave, or make them have a bad experience since they did not want to “carry” low levels.

The #1 rule in the ToS states.

While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players.

The people forming the party must be respected as much as people joining. People joining have the responsibility to take in upon themselves to meet the requirements on a party before joining. That is respecting the party formers. That should be the priority and the fact people in this thread have used said ToS#1 rule as an argument against OP is pretty awful.

The real issue with the LFG tool is that there is such a broad range of players and a very diverse way of completing dungeons.
-We have the top players speed running, rushing through them at breakneck speeds.
-We have the more casual dungeon runners, they will stack, use zerker gear and expect everyone to do the same. Maybe an Icebow4 here or there and maybe just maybe no one will knock defiance on for an Icebow 5.
-We have the very casual/newbie dungeon runners. They don’t care about gear/specific builds, they want to clear everything and play however they like.

All 3 of these groups are perfectly entitled to play how they would like. However, taking that a step further, if they make a team that team should be respected in a fashion that respects the original group creators wishes. It should have not give new people joining, some sort of entitlement to stay if they don’t meet the requirement of the group.

In gw1, we had specific team set ups.

kitten (WHY IS T"ONE" T"TWO" KITTEN) MT UA VoS EoE MoP for Fissure of Woe Speedclear (pug friendly). Each one of these had a distinctive role and when looking for a group it was quite simple.
GLF (group looking for) kitten to go. You couldn’t take 2 extra VoS or UA because they couldn’t do the job needed. They didn’t have the skills or the abillities require of them to do the roles the team needed.
how is this any different to wanting a Guardian in Zerker gear in LFG now

how is this any different to wanting a team to all be heavy? or all be light???
Did we not have the right to kick people then? Okay we had a party leader in gw1 but the concept stands.
If a team is looking for specific members for their party then they shouldn’t be punished or expected to change their own game style because someone joins a team (they don’t meet the requirement for) and feel entitled to stay.

Grind the Silverwastes for a chance at getting 1000g drops
Grind fractals for a chance at the fractal tonic
Grind fractals for a chance at the fractal weapon skins

Grind the Silverwastes for a chance at getting into the beta

So fed up of this.

[NA] Looking for EU timezone Guild Missions!

in Looking for...

We’re situated on Dragonbrand (NA)

Myself plus a couple of friends are looking for a guild for Guild Missions during EU times. This pretty much means finishing before midnight (GMT/BST)
We’re close group we generally play together all the time when we play.
We tend to do Fractals (all tiers), Dungeon Trains, Random PvE stuff.. and PvP for dailys.

We’re not looking for a 100% rep guild and definitely not one that kicks for not repping. We will use Guild to fill runs if we need an extra person but I’m not going to promise a load of repping. There are times that we will join the guild for runs if things are going on ofcourse and the others aren’t online.

This is essentially a “we’re a small group and we can’t efficiently run guild missions with the 3-4 of us” so we need to join a guild during our time zone that might work for us.

I understand we’re basically saying “please let us leech your GMs” but we’re all experienced players, we can bring a lot to a guild when we’re not playing together.
We use voice chat – TS/Mumble/Vent etc if a Guild provides that we will probably be actively in a channel together and we’re not exactly shy to talk to new people.

Fractal Weapon Skins

Is there actually a different loot table between 49 and 50 since they share the same tier? I get its 1 level above so theoretically should be “slightly” better but the Fractal tonic can come from 49 I’m sure? So..?

Kick Voting Fail

My issues is, when you form a group for a dungeon
“P1p2p3 80s exp” and then your group fills with level 35s, and you can’t kick them having already started it with your friend. Asking them to leave sometimes works sure, but you’ve explicitly stated your group is looking for 80s and you can’t kick them. It seems a bit silly to me.

I get it is a bit better that 2 people can’t just join and kick a whole group, but at the same time it can be counter productive since 3 people can do the same thing.

Boss Scaling

Never mind. Found this reddit post and it seems players within 1800 range are the ones scaling the bosses hp up or down
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/26vke4/boss_blitz_scaling_revelead/
So dead players apparently do count and it’s not combat based at all.

If this has changed in anyway I’d be grateful to know.

I have also had this happen to me. It’s only been happening since the 30/01/13 update
