It seems to me that these skills generally don’t pull or push, even on flat surfaces with nothing to get Stuck on. Instead, they just knock down the opponent on the spot.
Happens mostly on sky hammer, I want the map removed, however since it’s still here i need to learn why this is occurring most of the time. For me it happens to Asuran targets almost always.

Any tips or ideas?

This trait has gotten me killed more then it has ever helped me.
It’s not a useless trait, it can be helpful… Very rarely.
This trait alone makes the entire shadow arts trait line very unattractive, The line is amazing but it is destroyed at the first point.

Having a stealth line give the enemy a FREE Reveal when you are 25% hp is death.

tldr: Remove “Last Refuge”. Even if the first trait was blank, it’d be a better deal.

This happens quite often to me in sPvP.
I’m trying to remember what happens specifically before i get permanently snared ( no debuffs, just unable to move/turn), but i can’t remember. It happens abruptly and lasts until i die, but in some rare cases, if i get knocked back and it can fix the problem.

When I get permanently snared, I cannot use any ability, dodge roll or keyboard bashing to fix it. Simply begging for a mercy kill is all i can use.

Yes, game claims to be balanced with an animation based combat system, I’ve complained about this 2 years ago and nothing will be done about it. An, I’d like to say easy fix, could be an implementation of an option checkbox “All character models are X”. Drop down box to select race, or just make it human/asura/norn. The cats can be annoying as they Lean right over there weapons with that hunched back.

Where are you?
I have some good days some bad.
The day of the patch wrecked me, the rubber banding made it impossible to do anything. Tonight it’s killing me. Launch pads in Skyhammer rubber band me and i can’t use them, to others watching me i just don’t activate them.
I’m in Eastern Australia, ping is averaging 250~ like normal, but i think there is packet loss since the patch

Some people fix it by using Port 80
To try this, create a new gw2 shortcut and in the Properties > Target add /clientport 80
example
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” /clientport 80

the order of steal mechanics just need to be re-ordered(mug before stealth). Maybe this was a stealth nerf and intended, i certainly hope it was an accident though.

Are you having lag issues as well? I’m rubber banding really badly. But no D/C

temporarily, try to use port 80 with your game shortcut.
Place this in the ‘target’ field in the properties of a shortcut to the game
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” /clientport 80

Yours may look diferent, but all you really need to do is to add /clientport 80 onto the end, outside of the qoute marks ""

I hope they fix the server instability soon. So frustrating

I’ve never combined these. Usually when i use Steal with ‘Hidden Thief’ i hit my sheath weapon bind because something always manages to screw me over. Especially Pistol main hand.
Edit: To clarify, Sheathing your weapon will cancel some abilities and stop auto attacks

Try it yourself. Maybe it will be a temporary solution.

Well, I’m having incredible latency since July 1. Almost impossible for me to play anything let alone thief atm. When i run over launch pads in Skyhammer the rubber banding won’t let me launch. Any displacement ability i activate or any stun/snare/knockback rubber bands me and my character just gets locked up forever teleporting everywhere.

The new change to steal i think is also bugging me out. I’ll steal without being blocked/dodged and land next to the target, then instantly after, get rubber banded back to my starting position with no stolen item and a steal CD. (While in range and on flat ground).

This is possibly just the server problem combined with being Oceanic.
Overall, i hate this update. Cool, continue the Lore, but most people can’t even play the content or any part of the game atm, some can’t even log in.

There are a lot of different fixes for this. The one that i found helped me a lot was to just turn off Shadows and Reflections. from 20 to 60

How Is Stolen Fear Not Broken?

I chuckled a bit at people telling Payne he is having L2P issues.

Here’s one for the thieves though:
Rank your favourite stolen abilities.

Don’t worry about x being better than y in z situation, just rank the ones that have the most effect most of the time.

Depends on the situation.

Team fight: Necro Fear – Used to push people off of there ledges(Keep/CT)
2v1 or 1v1: Guardian Mace Head Crack. I am bad at using this one though
Trying to run: Thief/Mesmer
Stopping a res: Necro Fear / Engi Muck Pool

I would probably say Mesmer if the ability was instant.

If stolen fear lowered in fear time, definitely reduce the cast time. Takes forever to cast

Infinite PvP Salvage Kit

On a scale of 1-10, where 1 is ‘potential minor issue’ and 10 is ‘elementalists and mesmers’, this is about .5 It’s probably a bug yeah, but I’m not sure why you think this is a major issue.

This is a bug report, I said nothing of the importance/urgency of the bug.
Loading screen bug would rate 10/10 and they treated that very seriously!
But the infinite salvage kit doesn’t seem to be intended.

And to those upset about accidentally depositing all of your tickets/salvage kits etc, get an invisible bag. They are cheap for smaller bags.

If you put a PvP Salvage kit with 1 charge left on it into the PvP Locker. When you retrieve it again, it turns into a full 15 charge Salvage Kit.
Glory Points are too easily available to have ‘Free’ Salvage Kits.

User Interface and Ground Targeting

I don’t completely see this as a bug as much as a design flaw. I’m sure most of you have found that using ground targeting skills when hovering over the interface, the target’s buffs for example, will cause you to cast the skill at your own feet. This can be good and extremely bad on different situations.

I will use the thief “Shadowstep / Shadow Return” utility skill to give an example. This is used to break stun ( http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shadowstep ).
When you want to break stun, it is usually in a pinch (Warrior stun with quickness), the camera angles are not always forgiving, especially when backed against a wall. Accidentally mousing over the interface doesn’t help you in this situation, it will break the stun, but you then have to waste a dodge roll or die because you are disorientated from an unexpected result of your skill.

Ground target skills could work a lot nicer if the UI(User Interface) was not interact-able while using these skills. If the curser temporarily ignores the UI that would make it a lot easier for me, but could make it harder for other players.
They could also not cast if hovering over the UI, for me that would be a disaster.

Is anyone else having trouble with this issue?

Uneven Teams

Most of the games i play are 4 vs 5. Always 1 extra player on a team completely throwing any game balance out of the window.
This can happen from a player leaving or from a player joining mid match.
It rarely balances the numbers out, leaving it until the end of the match to fix the problem.

Nothing is more frustrating then losing only because they had 1 extra player.
I also dislike getting a free win.

If the teams are already even, it shouldn’t let people join without a queue to balance the teams.
