I’m getting the same problem. I’m running the game on windows 7. Some of my specs are:
-i7 quad core 3.4ghz
-12gm ram
-AMD Radeon HD 6970M
I don’t know if this is relevant but I’m running the game in 2560×1440.
I may check out the mac version of the game to see if that will fix it.
