The game crashes due to an out of memory error.
@BlackRose : Change your OS to 64bit and build more ram in your pc. You barely reach the minimum requirements. Meanwhile you should reduce the graphics and don“t run other programmes while you play.
@Soulistice : Deactivate High-Res Character Textures and set Character Model Limit to Lowest. Restarting the client occasionally should also help to prevent those crashes.

Why should we have to do this?

These settings are available to us. You saying that the game itself has flaws.

Anet has continued to ignore my service tickets concerning this issue, not even a response admitting the problem.

Problem #1 – game is coded 32bit – therefore cannot use all available ram.

Problem#2 – game has multiple memory leaks, hence the restarting aiding in the solution.

This happens to me every day at world bosses – Teq, Karka, MAW etc….

PC Specs-

i7-4790K watercooled with a H-105
32 Gig ram
1500W PSU
2x r9 390 in crossfire
Game running on a 250 gig SSD.

This system is more than powerful to run the game in max settings – I crash in no other games running at max settings – even Witcher 3 and BF4.

Anet needs to address this as 32bit is antiquated at this point.

Deactivate High-Res Character Textures and set Character Model Limit to Lowest.
If it still crashes you could also restart the client before such an event.

This is not the issue, the issue is, if they have the setting we should be able to run them…

Plain and Simple and yet they do not offer reasonable solutions except

“run a repair”
“Check graphic Drivers”
“Lower settings”

First 2 I understand, the last one should never be an answer for machines that can handle it.

Same for me.

I have been in contact with ANET but what I am learning is that because the game is coded 32bit, it cannot utilize more that 3.5-4 gig in ram.

Since the game is so CPU heavy, having your graphic setting too high will cause Out of Memory errors.

Hopefully this id being addressed somehow, I just built a new rig and cannot play my favorite game in its best graphic settings…… sad :’(

This has happened to 3 of my guild mates after the Oct 7 patch. I personally have had no issues but in 3 different tourney runs it has happened to more than one.
