Happened the other night to me as the only commander in a borderland and it was definitely inconvenient! Thanks for the suggestion, Joriarty!

I’m not even sure how your post is bragging either, Jedahs. After getting beaten down every week from day-capping, I’m just happy to have people to play with. SoS could use some server pride.

Some of the basic things I do to make a difference:

1. Always come to a rally point with at least 1 siege to contribute to a campaign.
2. Always bring max supply with you.
3. Defend our siege. People sometimes get tunnel vision during battle and the desire to chase down runners like a rabid dog takes over. Siege weaponry kills and breaks walls 100x better than a sword. Defend it.
4. Die a good death. Remember that you won’t make a difference if you’re dead. Get out of arrow cart range. Don’t stand under burning oil. If your health starts dropping dodge and find out why. Don’t charge into a mass of enemy unless you can invuln and get back out.

Common sense, I know…but if everyone did these things, it would make a huge difference.

As an NA player who’s been on SoS since launch, I feel your pain, @Maguuma and @Dragonbrand. The uphill battle with the outmanned buff is frustrating. I know, we’ve been there for the past 5 weeks. I’d like to thank you for some crazy fun battles tonight in EB and commend you all for not giving up.

For the NA guilds who moved to SoS, we welcome the help and I hope you like it here. With your help, I can go to work in the morning and our poor Oceanic folks can go to sleep and not wake up to a +0 tick.

If we currently have a server wide alliance where we can collaborate and organize WvW on a server wide basis regardless of time zones, please let me know. I’ve been in contact with some super helpful people, but from what I gather, there’s our awesome Oceanic population and then everyone else.

If not, DM would gladly lend our support to getting one in place for SoS.

Below are some of the challenges I’ve seen thus far, and perhaps some possible solutions that a server wide alliance can solve.

1. Coverage During Euro Times 12pm – 7pm EST – While Jedah is moving to the UK to recruit Euro guilds (you rock, Jedah!), a Server Wide Alliance can help arrange a borderland to focus on so we’re not so spread out during our least populated time of day. When I’ve been lucky enough to be on during the day, there’s usually a handful of people in each borderland. If we pooled our resources, we could easily take over 1 borderland so we can at least keep the points ticking.

2. Commander Coverage – Having a commander on a map really seems to help organize and centralize our goals. There have been several times where we’ve had 2-3 commanders on 1 map, and none on others. If we could spread out available commanders, it would help our efforts tremendously and make us more effective on all maps.

3. Strategy Sharing – As a new commander, I’ve been focused on trying to learn everything I can from watching other commanders. Everyone has their own ideas and styles and there’s so many different ways to accomplish what we need to do to win. It would be great to be able to have something like that for our server specifically. Not only for the commanders, but for others who WvW to understand the what’s and why’s. The more people we have who understand the importance of their roles and duties, the better we can work together as a team.

That’s all I can come up with during my lunch break. Can we put together something like this? I would be happy to set up a website for us to use to help organize sign ups, etc.
