Well, I’m a new 4th. Just hit 80 on my ele and loving d/d for dungeon play. I should have you all teach me some of your tricks.

Really, the point is that D/D ele is currently SLIGHTLY more effective then it should be in sPvP. (This is a ligit problem as proven by the lack of variety in the best team’s profession breakdown)

The fear is that any nerf to ele in sPvP will also effect it in WvW and PvE, where it is already a rather difficult class to play. Please ANet, be careful to not break our class in these areas.

I feel like it is a very valid point that the sheer amount of space involved in sPvP vs WvW seems to effect the elementalist balance more significantly than any of the other classes I’ve tried. With the class based around doing lots of little things to an area, if there is significantly more space to spread out into (WvW) then that class is not as dangerous as when space is limited and AoE can be stacked (PvP). While I agree that the Ele should be looked at to make other builds more viable and bunker less-omni, I would definitely advocate discretion on dev’s part to listen to heavily to either group of competitive gamers.

Perhaps a compromise could be in order within the power itself? I’m not a programmer, but what if there was a factor of how effective an ability is that is relative to the terrain itself? Perhaps in wide areas ele spells are 120% larger, or deal 120% more damage then currently, while in small and enclosed areas they are 80% of current? This would also effect the play-ability of ele PvE and in dungeons ofc but I think it could fix many of the problems therein as well.

Any timetable for this given? I just hit 80 today and was about to unload a bunch of gold/karma on exotic gear for WvW. If they’re re-working it I might as well play a different game until they do and save my efforts.

Also I think Arheundel may mean the Ele’s ability to self-heal? The heal x amount per spell cast is what makes bunker such a powerful build.

Thanks a bunch for the help. System restore did end working and we’re back to where we started.

So, I downloaded the ATI auto-update and ran it. It said that it completed successfully and my graphics changed resolution. Then about 5 seconds later the screen went all black. Now, whenever I boot the computer after about 30 seconds it goes completely black again. I was able to get in and started running a system restore – again the screen went black while it was running and now it has a hardware alarm. It is one long beep and two short beeps, which I think means a video card issue.

Kirito, you killed my whole computer! Please help friends!

I also discovered today that using the frame limiter helps. It becomes less choppy when I set it down to 30…how does that make sense?

So I’ve tried everything I can think of. With all the graphics setting turned down all the way I get 80-100 FPS. Even still everything acts like it is pulsing. The game hangs for half a second then runs extra fast for half a second and catches up. I have 8 gig RAM, I5 750 and Radeon 5770…should be able to handle this no problem. The FPS is what really throws me…any ideas?
