I bought at last the second accessory but it seems i can’t equip them both at the same time, both of them are Durmands Pen (with a defensive slot)
what is the problem? why can’t i equip both pens?

Yes, you can put runes on breathing masks, (but not orbs for some reason) and you need to understand that while underwater, your breathing mask replaces your helm, in the same way that your weapons are replaced. You wouldn’t expect your sigils to apply to your underwater weapons from the dry land weapons, when they aren’t even in use! Also, there are various karma vendors selling level 79/80 breathing masks with stats you may want, and at least two skins available in the game right now (so check this stuff out before applying your upgrades!).

Just be happy they didn’t require an entire set of underwater armor/wetsuits!

wow I haven’t thought that i need another rune for underwater mask as for helmet. it explains why the last ability of the rune “doesn’t work” lol
And i’m happy there are no underwater suits and swimsuits although they could add it for more sexiness and for beach parties :P (as town clothes of course)

i don’t think it should be that way … It really annoys tho in the fractals for example when it’s very important for my build to be able to pull off conditions from party members

It doesn’t removes a condition underwater.
I encountered this bug in the underwater fractal and in orr underwater.
It’s just not removing condition while I use shout and i use 3 of them, For great justice, On my mark and Shake it off (which then only shake it off removes 1 condition instead of 4 condition i can really remove for the whole party)

guild wars 1 had the option to dye a weapon (although you couldn’t see the difference too much but the idea is nice XD) I don’t see a problem adding coloring option(s) for weapons for more creativity and more variations

I know it already been suggested and blah blah but, there are 3 light classes (Ele, Mesmer, Necro), 3 more medium classes (Thief, Engineer, Ranger),
And 2 more heavy classes which are warrior and guardian,
My suggestion/request/whatever is to add another HEAVY class on the already existing weapon system.
Savage or something, more of a heavy class that is dual wielder that is spartan like warrior or something cool that is different from what we have now.
Warriors, usually and MOST commonly will use greatsword, dual axe or rifle, it’s very rare to see and other combination with the warrior because it’s just not worth it :\ a shield doesn’t really have defense bonuses or a mace doesn’t really help any way (tried any possible combination) dual swords ARE awesome but, the lack of AoE’s like greatsword/axe kinda ruins the experience with it (i love bleeding, have a 80 ranger, kicksass, in pvp or in situations of one vs. one i’ll kill anyone->) But on pve situation where I need to get rid of monsters, and a lot of them i’m just feeling useless like in dungeons, map events and stuff like that.

The guardian is more like a magician to me XD (no offence, im not a fan of magic classes) the guardian is half of what heavy should really be, because its like the guardian angel which armored kittenly and uses divine magic and blah blah…

So there is one heavy class, and another half class that uses heavy with magic.
Is there any possibility to add another heavy fighting class that is like the warrior but more different in the play style, for example more dual wielding and/or more jumping crazily like a thief?

I would really love to hear any suggestions on a heavy class which will have different play style and weapon usage that are less used by the warrior for example or at least more effectively using them, like dual swords/maces/axes/bow/shield/whatever

IF drop rate of corrupted loadstone is like 0.0025 to drop and you have +100% MF
that means you have rise your chance to 0.0050, and that’s still very low!!!!

Some people think if they have 120% magic find they will have like A LOT BETTER CHANCE but they are wrong.. i use magic set only for looting dragon or chests other than that i let it off.. because that small rate of MF doesn’t even work..

I heard that magic find doesn’t affect chest drops, and it’s only affecting drops from monsters and still, this is just a rumor

and i played long time with the mf set and not sure if it was worth the investment…

stopping the botters is good idea but it affects all the other legitimate players who play for fun and want to be rewarded for hard dungeons\ fractals\ hard dynamic evens or bosses. (especially the long ones)

I think Anet just kicked down the better drops across the board to increase gem sales. UnIDed dyes went from 5 silver to 12 silver due to their sudden, suspicious rarity.

what do you mean by “increase gem sales”? “force” people to buy gems with real money? i don’t understand :\

If you have a Magic Find set and you’re getting less than someone without it, that’s just bad luck or your MF set not having a whole lot to it yet. I can’t say for sure.

i have a whole set of mf man… bad luck? magic find should have physically much more chances than it is now or at least more chance than people without it.
I don’t remember exactly i have more than 110%….

I have a full set of mf and i dont get the reward i think i should get, the thing is i’m getting less rare loot then friend who doesn’t have mf at all.

Uhm “Dontin” on youtube said about the game that the thing about mf is strange and doesn’t really seams to work and said “Time spent = things earned” (something like that i dont remember exactly) I thought about the problem of this, botters will get awesome loot which probably will cause them to continue but players who really invest time in the game will just have an orgasmic feeling that the time they spent on their character really pays off.

that’s it, just wanted to say my opinion and maybe suggest to Anet or just make you think about it.

Well I’ll try to reply to everyone…
Trash – I haven’t played dungeons and you say 60 tokens enough for exotic set? it seems like you haven’t played because whole set of armor is 1200~ plus you have to buy weapon (390 minimum) it means you have to have to GRIND the same dungeon till you get 1590 tokens…. minimum. That means you have to play the same dungeon for 9 days everyday completing ALL 3 PATHS, “not grinding” at all and so much fun repeating it so many times while money rewards most of the time and some can relate to that – sucks.

DKP – sounds good for me

Bahamadude – I didn’t rushed as I said, just played with friends thru story, very interesting and never knew what’s next which is fun and exciting but that ended to quickly

Lil Puppy – As one who plays sniper a lot in Battlefield 3 believe me I have Patience :P

Well, I understand people who try to defend the game, but it is very stupid not considering facts. People say “for me it’s fun to strive forward blah blah achieve everything” BUT the true fact is they are still grinding and farming. People who love grinding their a**es off go ahead you have 8 dungeons with 3 paths each, go grind yourself to death, but don’t ignore people who don’t love it. It’s just stupid thing of you to do.

Well I posted in the thread but I feel it won’t be noticed there although some people already mentioned it.

“Gw2 is not about grinding and farming” – Anet (sorry if not 100% accurate)
Well, the process of leveling to 80 through the story quests and hearts and things like that was AWESOME. nice story quest nice dragon kills (Claw, Tequilla aka Sunless, Shatterer and ofc Zhaitan himself)

After reaching to 80, I thought to myself “Well I should get some kicka** armor and weapons”. Prices wasn’t too bad.
But, after playing some weeks of constant map exploration and dungeons on different paths I got really bored. One day I just played, went thru Shatterer Tequilla and Claw and got back to Shatterer again and didn’t got even one green, not to mention yellows at all. No other way to make money but grinding and farming my a** off in dungeons and dragons every day? I have my all set with “Magic Find” and i can say “Money well spent”… I found myself few last days I just log into the game and minimize it to listen music, internet friends and stuff like that. I don’t want the game to be in the back ground, I wanna play but I realize if I go back I’ll have to grind my self to death or to start a new character (although I want to complete my first one with at least exotic set and some cool skins) I have time but not money for gem->gold stuff but it’s just way to boring to grind 20-30 gold for full exotic set + more 100 gold~ something like that for skins, and i’m type of Pve guide but for me grinding and farming isn’t Pve… it’s just crap…

Please find a solution to this problem. I saw a lot of people like suggesting lvl 80 prestige when you’re “Level 1 again” and do all the story again but with all the traits and weapons, skills and do the story again or increase of lvl 80’s chance of rarer loot than lower levels
I dunno… People will say it’s OK NOW and it’s easy but still… everyday, dungeon after dungeon, path after path, dragon after dragon, day after day, again and again and again till you got some cool stuff…

Truth be told, I loved playing until level 80 in the story quests with my friend everything is different, monsters, places, never knew what’s next.

Please Anet, take this into consideration, I want (and I guess some other people too) that the exciting gameplay til 80 will still be exciting after 80, and not grinding and farming.

uhm… it was really interesting to lvl up and see how the story evolves but after reaching lvl 80 I’m trying to get awesome looking gear….. Anet said this game won’t be about farming…. Well I’m farming my kitten off in Dungeons, Dragons to get some gold for normal equipment and for me it’s not fun like the process of lvling to 80… farming the same dungeons dragons every day really sucks. Please pay attention to this !!! Add more ways to earn money that are not repeating themselves :S

What leads you to assume it increases an item drop chance?

My assumption is that it works how it does in other games (Diablo 3 for example).

The drops rarity is based on RNG (Random number generator), and magic find will increase the percent chance that you roll a higher rarity.

For example: If you have +100% MF (Clean number for sake of argument) and you have a base 10% chance to find a blue, 5% chance to find a green, and 1% chance to find a rare; +100% MF will DOUBLE your chance to find that rarity. i.e. 20% blue, 10% green, 2% rare.

For those who don’t fully understand why +100% would double your base: If you have 5 apples, 100% of those apples is 5. So if you add 100% to your 5 apples, you now have 10 apples, double your starting figure.

It is my belief that magic find will just affect the chance for you to receive a higher rarity – or ‘roll’ a higher rarity. The figures that I roughly gave above show that you aren’t actually getting more loot but in fact whenever you get an armor piece or weapon drop for you, that weapon has a higher percent chance to roll a magic property, or higher rarity. i.e. If you had 1% base chance to find a rare, you could expect to get 1 rare out of every 100 DROPS (not kills). With +100% magic find, you could expect 1/50 DROPS to be rare.

An example of RNG would be say; 1-100 ignoring decimals. If you roll a 100, you get a rare. If you roll say… 1-10, you get a blue etc etc. This is because of my made-up percentages I gave further up.

Nothing in this post is definitely correct. It is all my assumption based on workings from other games. Do not take what I type here as fact, my understanding is that ANet has not formally released how it works.

Well, as I said it’s the same logic but you can’t confirm without doubts that’s how it really works, I hope it is true. Thanx anyways

magic find increases the chance an item to drop from an enemy.

so if your magic find is +200%, and the basic chance for a Berserker Super Dragon Slaying Great Bow of Uber Power to drop from a monster is 1.5% , your magic find rating will change the chance to 300% x1.5 = 4.5%….. not much, but still way better than the original chance…..

.. i think that’s how it works…..

ok if this is the logic behind the magic find I think I got it, but that’s only an assumption XD Can any developer or something like that approve?

Can someone explain how it works? people still say to me that’s a mystery and no one actually know’s about it.
I have 81% Magic Find from clothes + Sigil of my weapon that has 25 max stack (+6% each) = 231% ~ and i still didn’t got any yellows and greens :S
