Look’s like I’m far from being the only one with this misunderstanding then, maybe a ticket is a good idea???
That’s what I’m hoping for as well, to pick another next year
It’s a consumable item just like all other gear related items that you unlock to your wardrobe. It’s an achievement so not a birthday gift as such. Hope this helps you to not make the same mistake and have your player wearing the right piece
Just take a look at this sorry image. The Sylvari that misses his home and appears to have traveled back from Rata Sum, mistakenly picking up the wrong backpack.
You’ll get a chance at the others. As you’re 4th year I’m sure you have more toons made coming of age? I have 7 more with 4th years starting tomorrow etc and will be able to choose all the skins, you can get all the others as well
and Happy Birthday. GAME ON
Glad I caught you now! I’ve got 5, 4 year old characters, you only get 1 back piece Don’t make the same mistake as me and a few of my friends did and choose the first 1 you come across. It’s an achievement reward, not a birthday reward
So me being a silly billy as I can be at times went and rushed into picking my back piece thinking it was going to be per character not account. Logged in on my Asura as it was the last character I’d been on and got the Rata Sum back piece! Getting all giddy I then went onto my main Sylvari, looking forward to getting the Grove back piece which to my surprise, DIDN’T COME! Noooo!!!
<moment of silence please for the stupidity>
After reading it was from the achievement, I was gutted.
Here’s to hoping it’ll be available again next year (not hinting at anything OBVIOUSLY wink wink, nudge nudge)
So after months of putting this of I’ve finally decided to list just a few ideas that I personally think would enhance the experience. Sorry if these have been mentioned before
Ascended gear: maybe make upgradable to Ascended (Infused) and allow us to select or upgrade to add another set of stats, not all like legendary, just 2 or 3.
Guild search feature: after playing some clash of clans and a few other games, what stops this game from listing guilds and having a search feature where guildless people can look at different guilds they may be interested in and apply to it?
In game ladders: says it all, many other games have the ladders in game, it would be nice to see it in this one. Even gw1 had some ladder systems in game.
Thoughts and opinions.
Why not? After listening to someone complaining in Lions Arch this morning…
Find a guild feature like we find a group, the guild leader gets to put up a little message saying what the guilds about, records how many members etc. Surely that wouldn’t take much effort? Would it? Keep it simple
It was initially changed so as not to discourage level 80 players from going to lower-level zones.
Now with Ascended armor requiring lower level mats, it probably should change back.
This is exactly what I mean! Perhaps this week they’ll mention something about gathering these materials easier, let’s hope so.
I’m confused. I get a mix of loot between my current character level and the level of the map I’m playing in. Are you saying you do not?
In the past, you only got level 60 items in a level 60 zone, level 50 items in a level 50 zone etc etc, now you get level 80 items in a level 10, 20, 30 area etc. This was one of the first bigger changes I can recall them making.
I actually didn’t consider that! I play light (mesmer) and with smart loot your right! I have a much higher chance at obtaining better drops than a heavy and especially medium! That or the markets are going to decrease dramatically? Uncertain times…
In the past when we was level 80 and traveled to a level 60 zone, all weapons and gear would drop at that level instead of level 80. I recently come to realize how vital this is now that we have a working living story, world bosses that have players warp all over the maps and ascended gear that is in much need of lower tier mats.
The benefits of rewinding to that old system means that the higher tiered common materials gain their value back and the lower materials become obtainable easier in PVE.
This may also make other systems in the game, eg. upgrading linen scraps to silk scraps via the mystic forge actually worth considering because currently, due to the system we have in place, you would have to be seriously stupid to do such a thing
Anyone else think this would be a good idea?

Allow me to back up Lil Puppy:
1. "One of the biggest changes we’re making is that dyes will no longer be unlocked per character but per account instead. "
2. “When you unlock a dye after the feature pack is released, all characters on your account will have unlimited access to that color.”
3. “If you already have the same dyes unlocked on multiple characters, when you log in on additional characters, you will receive one unidentified dye for each duplicate dye already unlocked on your account.”
4. No idea how Lil Puppy got this point or where obtained it from. From reading the post, that doesn’t appear to be true.
“Both specific colors of dye and unidentified dyes will still be tradable and available on the Trading Post”

I absolutely agree with you, cultural armours are brilliant and if they could make an exotic / ascended / legendary cultural gear… that would be fantastic
Thank you anet! The change as of the 31st May update is brilliant and definitely on par
I’m now getting some silver from nothing that’s on the tp lol! there’s something going seriously wrong here
If it helps, I put a buy order for 110 Powerful bloods, came online today and they seem to have vanished into thin air along with my 30 or so gold
Terrible, just terrible. Won’t be getting this until it it is changed to what it is supposed to be.
Hehe, oh man. By the time that happens It’ll most likely be out of the Gem store and you would’ve waited for nothing. BUT HEY…no pressure.
Besides I always thought it was a convenient item. Like never having to buy another tool for your Plant mutilation needs.
ADDED: Outta curiosity what kind of animation what you players here expecting? not meaning to pry or judge ,but I’m rather interested.
I’d love to see the havesting movement – havesting sound – bigger animation
:D Let’s hope they do something
Ya I’d have to agree with you kouta, didn’t actually think about that one so a nice and easy fix: Copy paste an actual havesting sickle – increase the size of the animation, that would work for me
They are soulbound on use mate
I wouldn’t go as far as dissapointed myself, I’d just like to see a bigger animation like the milten alliance pickaxe has. That’s clear, and rather nice to see when your doing it
Personally I love these kind of things in the gemstore bought one of these this morning and was looking forward to the effect (sad of me i know). It’s as I said it would be, the effect of the rangers healing spring though maybe make it a little…. bigger? I was sad to see just a little spit of water coming out of a bush and the sound effect of mining some metal :O. Anyone else think same?
I went to sell my ori ore on the trade post at 19:49 gmt today… for some reason it got stuck on “selling”. After a number of minutes waiting for it to finish the process my ori disapeared without a trace. Not in inventory, hadn’t sold, nor was it on the trade post for sale or in my bank… Where’s my ori gone?
Guys, I would like to thank, Slark… Bought the cooler he recommended today and now while playing guild wars 2 I reach 53C (127F) MAX! HUGE jump from the 95+s I was getting with the stock cooler
I don’t delve into overlocking and at 2.66 ghz, you’d imagine cooling would be easy (I’m guessing in comparison with some of you guys that are getting to 3.3ghz) Going out to buy one of the mentioned coolers now and will give results probably a Cooler Master of some sort.
Mathisk: My thermal paste must have dried up a little, I’ve had it well over 2 years and not applied any fresh lol
Thanks for the replies guys, I have also looked into the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ that you recommended Slark, so shall be buying either that one or the one I listed tomorrow

As the title sums up… I have an i7 920 / 2.66 GHz and I’m using my stock fan to try play guild wars 2. Idle, the temperature is 45-50 degrees C, when playing guild wars 2, I’m hovering around 97-104 degrees C which I’m guessing is not where it should be! Guild wars 1, when I’m playing hovers around 54-58 degrees C.
Any suggestions of what’s going wrong? I’ve looked into a new cooler fan and thinking of going for: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/be-quiet!-dark-rock-advanced-cpu-cooler-with-120mm-silent-wings-pwm-quiet-fan
