I don’t recall ever having the need to kill in self-defense in Farmville.
Do note that we generally make and update upcoming monthly achievements for upcoming months when we do updates. The achievements are currently set up for other months, but any of the monthly achievements beyond February are likely to change before we get to those months.
And here I was already making up my schedule for my monthlies in 2040
All kidding aside, though, I guess this poses problems for the people who live in a timezone much later than that of the server? Meaning it’s past midnight for them, yet the daily achievements have not yet reset.
If this is the case…half the planet is going to be trying to complete expired achievements lol
Are these for making minipets?
I’m in the same boat as OP. I played a thief up to 80 and didn’t really like the style anymore… Looking at Engineer, Ele, and possibly Guardian now…
My main concern is three-fold:
1) I want to be a capable and interesting solo PvE’er. (Thief boiled down to a fairly simple rotation for my reasonably resilient build….DB, DB, DB, steal, DB, DB, HS, HS, repeat x.x)
2) I want to be useful in a party…whether it be in dungeons or general PvE.
3) Like any other player….I want to survive lol. I have an affinity for sturdy characters. I tend to have a knee-jerk reaction to rush into combat, guns ablaze. I need to play something that won’t shatter while I’m reloading lol (figuratively).
Don’t get me wrong, I understand that all professions bring something to the table (and I have interests in trying out Warrior, Necro, Ranger, and Mez in the future). Currently I’m trying to establish a new ‘main’ character…something that I will want to stick with. That’s what attracts me to Ele and Eng…their extreme versatility.
Could anyone offer any insight that might sway my decision? I’m not a very “itchy” gamer, so I’m leaning more toward Eng…but I’m interested in more input before I decide.

Has anyone paid any thought to the fact that GW2 may have an evolving end-game? What’s the point of the new content if it doesn’t add to the experience of level 80 characters? ANet has implemented a cosmetic armor grind already (crafting, karma, etc). They’ve done this in order to satisfy as much of the gaming spectrum as possible (casual to hardcore).
The stat bonuses from infused armor will probably be naturally acquired through the new content. As saurus has been mentioning in his posts, it’s possible that different levels of infusion may be required to survive certain areas of the game (like GW1). These infusions may be awarded through events in the new areas.
Whatever happens, I can say this for sure. ANet listens to its community MUCH more than Blizzard ever has. They’re definitely aware that we don’t want a content-required gear-grind like WoW has. To-date, they have not implemented a system in which we have to compete with other players for gear.
Lastly, to anyone who absolutely abhors any sort of expanded, end-game content I say this:
You payed for the game without this new content. You’ve already received what you paid for. This expansion is free for anyone who desires to take part in it and is unlikely to diminish the experience you already paid for. If you don’t like it…don’t play it. Unlike other MMO’s, you’re not paying a monthly sub so there is no loss if you don’t partake.
ANmara has it right. Is it not an oxy moron to complain about ANet catering to those who are capable of devoting a massive amount of time to the game while demanding to be allowed to experience every little nuance of the game?
I think it’s pretty awesome that they’re incorporating such events. It’s the internet, if something ‘once-in-a-blue-moon’ goes down….the GW2 community will let you know about it.
Ahhh, I was having the same problem!!! Was drivin me nuts!
