Yes but opinions differ, as the replies in this thread prove, sometimes the only way is to find out for yourself.

I don’t really understand it when people ask on the forums about how the game is now and should I return etc. Just log in and see for yourself. It costs you nothing but a little time if you already have the game, especially since you said you’ve been wanting to return. Just try it and see

I’d like to see some events happening in the open world, nothing to do with the Mordrem, or elder dragons, or Heart of Thorns, or anything to do with the personal story that the living world has become, but events in the existing open world that would make the game world LIVE again.

Imagine exiting Lions Arch into Bloodtide Coast and suddenly finding the wreck of a huge mysterious ship washed up on the shore. It’s our job to search the coast for survivors while fighting off hoards of pirates trying to steal the treasures within, with clues leading us to where the ship came from etc, or suddenly hearing of a serious avalanche in the Shiverpeaks and our help is needed to aid the people there. The call to help could come up on screen just like when Scarlet was invading. Or the Asura have gone too far with their experiments and a huge monstrous Grub is wreaking havoc in Caledon Forest and we have to stop it! I know, just silly little ideas off the top of my head, but you get the idea.

Small random things that could happen in the existing open world, just as things happen in our own REAL world, suddenly, and for a brief period, never to be repeated. Surely that is what a LIVING world is all about?

I long for the format of Season 1 back again. I really looked forward to something new every 2 weeks, and the awesome stuff we had like The Marionette, The Tower, The Scarlet Invasions, The Destruction of Lions Arch etc, things that actually changed the game and made it feel like a real living world. It all went a bit downhill for me when Season 2 started…:(
