Do longtime players get free items too? (Wizard Hat; Merged)

I must admit that I am envious of the bonus stuff that has been offered since GW2 went live, as I got the game a week or so after it came out and paid top dollar for it. But I also understand that marketing this game will be a forever thing… They need the constant income to pay for the overhead of running, and hosting it. I would have loved to have received any bonus handout, but it would not change how I feel about the game. It is a fun game, even though there is very little information about other “problems”, that should be addressed.

We as a player base should come up with good suggestions to keep more players joining. The more players on the game, means more revenue for them, and hopefully faster, and better fix’s, along with some information on the threads that are in desperate need of it.

Just got this game for Christmas...

I’d like to apologize on behalf of the posters who aren’t really answering your question.

Guardian fits into the tanky/support profession. Note, however, Guild Wars 2 really frowns upon pure tank/healing roles. You will still be expected to pull your weight in terms of damage.

As for weapon choice, my advise to you is try them all out. Each Guardian weapon has its own uses. If you visit the Guardian subforums, there’s actually an incredible wonderful guide that explains each Guardian weapon. Read up on it. But make sure you try out each weapon though, see what fits your personal preference the best.

Traits, you have a total of 70 trait points to spend (at lvl 80). Each profession has 5 trait trees, and one tree is maxed out at 30. So yes, you can put trait points into different trees (if that is your question.) At lower level, it’s not a huge deal, but designing a good trait build that works for you will be important later on.

Races have unique skills. In general, racial skills are inferior to profession skills (there are exceptions, of course). Personally, I suggest you choose a race depending on their lore.

This is the best answer for you.

At this moment there are a lot of players with questions that went unanswered, me being one of them. Bad thing is, only a small percent of the whole player base is posting on the forums. I for one still enjoy the game, as do most of the population in game.

So Merry Christmas and I welcome you to GW2.

Change in loot parameters or a bug? [Merged]

It would be nice to actually have a “non cryptic” response on this. I have noticed a huge reduction in drops an all of my toons. It is hard to repair armor and port to new map, without loosing money. At the current rate, I see less and less PC’s on all of the maps, and expect to see even fewer as time goes by. My family and I all play and enjoy this game, but the total lack of information from the staff is a hard pill to swallow.
In the couple weeks time since Lost Shores, I have not seen any difference in any of the gameplay. Of course there was the addition of “stuff” in the BLT, yet still no word about thoose of us that DC’d during LS event, or anything intelligent about the drop rates…
All I would like to know is that they are working on it, or not. I am not a mushroom, do not keep me in the dark and feed me crud… I still love the game, but I am getting discouraged with the utter lack of feedback…
