To help with population imbalance, have an option similar to the current ‘volunteer to move out of map to receive a temporary buff’ to instead a sort of ‘hire PvErs to help in WvW’ where you queue an upgrade in the keep for gold/karma. Then all the PvE players on your server get the option to warp into WvW to do a certain quest like ‘capture stonemist’ and at the end they get a big chest for participating (smaller reward for not capturing it within time limit).
Another idea is ‘job boards’ where you pick a certain job in WvW and if you complete the task you get loot bags/rewards.
Overall, I think increasing the rewards and increasing the amount of dynamic events that occur in WvW would provide more of an incentive for all players on a server to participate.
I want competitive missions back in all their glory. I would love some more PvP options if they resemble the old competitive missions in GW1. Luxons versus Kurzicks. The whole exciting part of a competitive mission was a complex concise objective, the kicker was organizing with random teammates and the end result rewards PvE content and titles. You are a luxon soldier assaulting a kurzick castle and you have to infiltrate the castle and kill Master Architect Gunther before he finishes developing a new weapon but to do that you must prevent the enemy from taking over camps and collecting resources. You must also defend a siege turtle while getting the gates down to assassinate the high priority target. It’s a fun and relaxed environment where you can kick back for 20-40 minutes and cooperate with a team to complete an objective. Whether it’s an addition in WvW, sPvP or a new mode entirely. I’ve seen some of the advised remakes and if it’s anything like the old Fort Aspenwood or Jade Quarry, I’m in.
