Are you going to address how you forced characters to train into builds using their hero points without their consent? :o
Very annoyed, honestly. @Anet
Everything about this would be fine! I don’t mind having some skills gated by getting other skills in their category, I don’t mind spending hero points because of how abundant they are, I don’t mind losing out on a lot of traits or things moved to a line they don’t particularly belong in—
What I DO mind is Anet using your hero points to default level up some training specs. (It doesn’t matter if they’re based on what you had equipped! A lot of things, especially traits, have changed and you should be able to choose what you want) Yes, yes, I know, Hero Points are easy to get, you should be able to unlock everyfin you want at 80, etc.
I don’t care.
This was fine for my 80; she had more than enough points to get every line trained completely, as is the case for many people.
The point is two things. A) They took away the ability to get a feel for this new system. Logging on to some things filled out and some things 0 with half of my original skills and new trait lines in place was very… disorienting.
B) Non-80 characters are really kittened over as is, defaulted into training whatever Anet thought they should and really, really messing up play pre-80— which, wow, does matter more than you’d think. (I think people tend to forget that not everyone power levels to 80 and there’s no reason they should be shafted for taking their time. They have as much right to choose what lines and skill they want as anyone else.)
There’s 0 reasons any points should have been spent on anything without the player doing it themselves. 0. You can make any claim you want that it’s an easy fix by waiting to 80 or just unlocking everything at 80, but that does not change the main fact that Anet had no right to fill out whatever training lines they felt like for your character— or any training lines at all, whether it was pre-equipped or not!
Thanks for reading, please don’t do this in the future/or offer some kind of training reset.
Hiya! ( This might be kinda long… OTL )
Quick introduction, my name’s Chesh (or Cheshire if you wanna be more formal, but pet names are always cute so any derivatives of that are also open ground) and I’m an 18 year old who lives in the US. I game often but because of attention issues I get bored and move on between different games quickly, though this process takes a lot longer with MMOs than consoles. I played a lot of WoW in the past, while I don’t have plans to return to it, and also LoL; which I’ve been playing on and off for four years.
That stuff aside, I really want to find a Guild. I play on Gate of Madness but I don’t tend to WvW so I don’t see it as relevant. I have one now, but it’s only three people (me, my boyfriend and one of my roommates) and I want to keep it that way, using it mainly as a bonding thing and extra bank slot. Neither of them play as often or are into the game as I am, though, which is where most of my problems come from. I’m a huge fan of this game! Bought it and immediately got into it about a month or so ago, now, and I spend a fair amount of time playing it. I’m really into the lore, the gameplay and just… nearly everything about it. Super hyped for HoT, too.
I play mainly PvE but as my main (a Mesmer) just hit 80 the other day and I finished getting her geared up (all rare equipment, exotic weapons) for the dungeon grind, I haven’t touched on anything too important PvE wise yet. I’ve fought bosses for dailies and I’ve run the story mode of every dungeon multiple times except for Arah, which I haven’t gotten to yet. (finishing mapping Orr) I plan to get the Dungeon Master achiev and also start on Fractals. Definitely working on full map completion on her, too.
Outside of that I also dabble in PvP, I’m not very good at it and I’m rank 11 right now because I haven’t played it much but I do enjoy it. Other than those two, I haven’t played much more than an ~hour of WvW and I don’t understand it but it looks kinda interesting.
To get further towards the main point (sorry that I ramble, just want to give as many relevant details as I can), I’m looking for a small, close knit guild that I can fit in with and make friends so all the hours of playing aren’t as lonely as they are now. I can’t deal with guilds with an absurdly large amount of players where I won’t know most people and can’t really, you know, converse, but a handful or so of active people would be a Godsend. I have Skype, TS3 and Vent, though I prefer talking over text over verbal— I CAN listen, though, and will likely eventually open up enough to speak myself!
I uh… I think that’s all the important stuff! I hope I haven’t wasted your time, and thank you for reading if you did!
