Success! I uninstalled, reinstalled, and made sure Windows was up to date! Thanks all for your suggestions.

It’s been almost 2 days for me now, and of course my computer has been restarted many times since then. I am still unable to login to -any- of my characters. ANY HELP ANET??!? I would love to take part in the amazing Wintersday you’ve made available.. to most people..

I can’t send an in-game ticket, either, because … well I have to be in-game for that and I am unable to get that far. Please someone help.

Unfortunately, deleting the local.dat file did not work for me. :\ Hoping I can login soon so I don’t miss too much of Wintersday!

I was playing all day yesterday with no issues. I then got a “New Build game will restart after 3 hours…” message, and after my instance run, I logged out to patch the new build and upon finish, I attempted to login. I got to the character screen just fine and even logged in at first seemingly with no problems. I took a few steps in game and the client froze. I tried logging in again, and this time it froze before even loading. I had this happen to me at launch, too, but at that time I could at least login with other characters. Now it freezes at the loading screen with any character I attempt to login.

Are there any steps I can take to get a successful login? Thanks in advance!

Ummm… I take that back. I -was- able to finally login to my character, but after about … oh 30 seconds of moving around it crashed again.

Uninstalling and installing fixed it for me. I had previously tried deleting the local.dat file, and attempting the -repair fix but I had no luck with either.

And the repair just crashed. Looks like I had no luck, either.

I’m having this issue as well. Error 23, that is. I’m running the -repair thing now crosses fingers My hard drive is brand spankin’ new just for this game, so it should be fine, unless somehow GW2 has messed it up. Hoping the repair works for me, as I see it hasn’t worked for some of you!

I’m having the same issue. So far I haven’t found any solutions. :\ It happened a while back, too, with one character, but it fixed itself somehow in less than a day. It was when GW2 had just launched to the public. I’m thinking I’m having the issues again now that they have opened up sales again and we have more people flooding in. But how do I fix it so I can play? Just keep waiting until it fixes itself like the first time? Now it’s been well over 24 hours and I can’t login to 2 of my characters. I can login to other characters that didn’t crash, and I can create new ones. But the two that crashed suddenly are not able to login.
