Speaking of New in Box, I missed the chest my first time through Precocious Aurene and now can not figure out how to go try a 2nd time. Maybe I’m just missing something easy but my only option under Living Story 3, Crank in the Ice is to “Quit this Episode”, no “Replay” option.
I’m having the same issue. I tried about 12 times and keep getting this message:
“We were unable to register an account using the information provided. Please check your information and try again.”
I have check it and all the information is correct. I guess I just keep trying over and over.
I find there are a few things in particular that really set them off. Being blown up by BoB, being pulled then wacked by a pry bar and most all falling on their butts over and over because of Slick Shoes.
I’ve been paying particular close attention to this topic. Over the years I’ve used my Engi for every facet of this game with great success but until this topic have always considered them mediocre in dungeons.
Oh sure, I get through them and have a great time doing it but it just seems like I could be doing more to contribute.
Prior to the patch I was enjoying PvP but now find it so difficult I no longer find it fun. I can only take getting obliterated by Mesmer’s and Ele’s so much before I tire of it.
So I’ve moved on to Fractals. I’ve never done them before so like everything else in this game I just grab my Engi and go. I’ve gotten to level 4 and all is well but I watch the other 4 members of my party and they seem to having a much easier time of time it.
I fully understand this is a learn to play thing but prior to this topic I was getting ready to start gearing up my Guardian for nothing but Fractal runs.
I was very happy to see from this thread that Fractals are perfectly viable with an Engineer.
Could someone please post the best builds for dungeons and Fractals. I expect there will be a slight difference between the two.
Thank you,
Last night I was running around WvW. I turned a corner and saw about 20 enemies running right toward me. I turned around, hit the R button and started running away as fast as I could.
I have Speedy Kits so I was keeping up full swiftness. I kept just barley ahead of what I believe was a Mesmer shooting a long sword at me.
I have two questions about this situation. One being could I started laying down bombs from Bomb Kit to slow their progress? Or is there a slight delay in running while you bend over to set the bomb? Any delay at all and they would have caught me.
Second question. I had Rocket Boots ready to go but I was hesitant to use them because of that very annoying stop that sometimes happens at the end of the blast off.
What did up happening is I saw a keep door I could run into. When I felt I was close enough to it I hit Rocket Boots hoping to just blast into the door and be safe. Instead I blasted forward a little bit then a jumped at a 90 degree angle to the right, and stopped. I got pounced on and destroyed one second later.
What is up with Rocket Boots? Why the pause at the end of jump or the occasional angled jump?
Any other ideas of escape when you are way outnumbered?
I’ve been running an Engineer since launch. I’ve tried other classes but always come back to my Engi. It’s by far my favorite class.
In the beginning I spent a ton of time and made many adjustments to dial him in just right. I finally got to a point where I was happy. I was blasting through PvE. After full map completion I moved on to WvW. I made some adjustments for that and again found a place where I was happy. Believe it or not I have been running the same build with little change for well over 10 months with great success in PvE and WvW alike. Lately something has changed though. I’m still fine in PvE but struggling in WvW and think it’s time to make a change. I’m ready for a full overhaul if need be but would like peoples input. This is my build. For Traits I run 4,6,4,0,0.
In Exp line in have shrapnel and incendiary power.
In Fire I have sitting duck, rifle mod and modified ammunition.
For Inven I have energized armor and power shoes.
I run all Exotic Kinghts armor. I know most of you will laugh at this but I’m still using Ruby Orbs in my upgrade slot. The way I see it I’m getting 120 power, 84 precision and 84 ferocity. I know they took a big hit when critical damage was changed to ferocity so to compensate I got the Stonecleavers Musket which added 134 back to ferocity. My Sigils are bloodlust and force.
My power is 2,228, toughness 1,595 and precision 1,810. I typically run Bomb Kit, Elixer U or power goggles and always rocket boots.
I never roam alone in WvW, I prefer medium to large groups. I want this new build to be centered on WvW zerging.
I log onto this forum every day and read everything about Engineers. I have seen many people post builds. I know the topic of WvW builds have come up many times but I’ve never seen one so much better that I felt I must copy it. So more than anything I just want people to look at this and make suggestions. I hoping to just be able to fine tune it but if that is not possible I am will to make full changes. As I said the past month or so I’ve been getting my butt kicked in WvW and I’m tired of it. So please critique away. I’ll make any need changes. Thank you,
What are peoples opinion of Rune of the Flame Legion? I have been messing around with my Engineer over and over for the past year. I never seem to find a combo I’m happy with. Lately I been using the rifle and bomb kit a lot. For most fights I start out firing the rifle. If the enemy stays back I’ll keep that up but then at some point use Jump Shot to get right up to him and then swich to Bomb Kit and just bombing the heck out of everything until I start taking damage. Then just back, heal and back to rifle.
For all close range fighting I just use Bomb Kit right away. I read all these posts about Engineers but I never see anyone talk about Flame Legion Runes. With skill #2 Fire Bomb I get my burning. It seems must people lean towards Rune of the Scholar or Ruby Orbs. Scholar doesn’t seem right for a Bombing Engineer. I can’t keep above 90% for very long standing right next to or under some big old creature for very long. I have not tried Ruby Orbs yet.
