It doesnt take a rocket scientist or reasonable justification to understand that not being able to permanently stow your pet is a hinderance.

Open world content:
Generally pets are no problem. Unless you want to do any explorer achievement, jumping puzzle or anything were you would prefer to not run in there shouting look at my pet.
Open world bosses:
The pet turns into a useless addition to the Ranger class most of the time.
Dungeons:
Generally pets are useless other than as terrible buff bots. They die far too much. There are situations were I would actually like to move like all other classes are able to in the game “as an individual”.

How do you address the problems above …..

Make it so that you can stow your pet permanently.

Flipping the question around why would you NOT have the ability to stow your pet permanently?

We decided to not allow rangers to stow their pets permanently for the following reasons:
- So the ranger has to manage any problems caused by a troublesome pet without a mechanism to avoid future problems
- etc, etc, etc

I’ve no idea why a game mechanic would ever be implemented which meant you couldn’t actually stow your pet until you wished to pull it from the ether.

This is a complete joke… it’s a massive hindrance to the Ranger.

Forsaken Fortune mini dungeon and achievement – Ranger Pet? Hmm lets put my pet on Avoid Combat (passive). Yeah right lets triple the difficulty due to the pet running all over the place.
Fractals Lighting Highway – Ranger pet? Lets double the difficulty. If you do get hit your pet now counts as part of you.
Dungeons Generally, The open world, anywhere to be honest. Tell you what lets make sure the pet aggro’s half the world as you cant permanently stow it and as soon as you gain aggro out it pops were it follows its own path pulling even more mobs to its lovely little owner.

SORT IT OUT ……

If this was game design your having a laugh…

Can I suggest: “Stow Pet” ability allow the Ranger to Stow their Pet permanently…..when you first log-in the pet will be summoned.

Fractals Stairway with Lasers coming down it

Hi

So just before Old Tom in the Fractals instance is a stair where laser lines constantly come down .. the objective is to dodge the lasers get to the top and activate the 3 nodes at the top which turns off the lasers..

Great! Although for the love of god stop Ranger pets affecting the lasers… We DO NOT have control of our pets .

If I run up the stairs with the pet hidden .. hit a laser by accident survive the pet pops out … If the pet is standing in the line any of the lasers it transfers the hit to the ranger due to the AOE effect…

Was this really intended?

Pets don't tank anymore

Confirmed after the recent patch.

Pets on most occasions don’t tank. Pet is sent in the mob comes straight to me even if I haven’t hit the mob.
Additionally If I pull aggro through proximity and do ZERO Damage/Effects pet then in some instances the mob wont actually come of me even when others attack it. I confirmed this multiple times training botters and pulling the mobs through there line of auto fire.

IS IT…. "LETS DESTROY RANGER WEEK OR SOMETHING?

Ranger SB Nerf: Not 40 milliseconds

Oh how the train rolls. Dev’s start playing with abilities of characters in an attempt to balance out classes. If this was a mechanism to reduce botting then Anet you should have sorted out botting. Or don’t you actually understand that bots these days don’t just press one button. They run around very similar to normal players However if you didnt fall out of the intelligence tree early on there easy to spot. Repetition is the key word.

As for the ranger nerf, good job taking the one class which was balanced and destroying the only ability which actually does a reasonable amount of damage. You won’t roll back the fix Developers never do. You sit in you’re ivory tower and think you know best reading of data from a report generated by brain dead analysts. You fail to consider the implications of your actions and then in the months to come when players start dropping off you blame someone else in the team for lack of content rather than the crappy changes your team made against classes in the game.

Just take a look at the history of other MMO’s when classes are bumped up, bumped down, bumped up, bumped down….
