I hope it’s the Baal one. That’s a level 8 guy I made a long time ago and never play. I don’t mind dropping that one. I can’t say I agree with it being offensive (or deserving a 72 hour ban), since I was using it with the reference to "is a Northwest Semitic title and honorific meaning “master” or “lord.”
Allucinatius is my main and yeah I think that one is too much of a stretch to be considered offensive and especially a drug reference.
Either way, I’m just confused as to how any of those would constitute an auto-suspension of 72 hours. If it breaks the TOS, it would seem to be more fair to just request I change the name on next log in.
Be my guest
Allucinatius, C H O S E N, Tyr Svallin, Necibus, Baal Samael (i think that’s the spelling, I never play that guy)
I don’t see anything bad in there?
Thanks for the reply. It is my first “offense,” but I just can’t think of what my offense would even be.
By notification, I meant specific verbiage related to my suspension. The name “XXXXX” violates our TOS. Click here to change your name, for example.
A generic message and instant 72 hour ban without any explanation seems a little harsh given none of my names are offensive, resemble historical figures, sexual, etc. I’m interested in finding out what name is even in violation. Hopefully you are right and things will be restored soon, but I have a feeling this one was a mistake on their part.
When I log in I get a message saying “Your Guild Wars 2 account suspended for use of an unacceptable name in violation of the User Agreement and Rules of Conduct. Access will be restored in approximately 71 hour[s].”
I’ve never had an issue with my account getting suspended, and I’ve never received any sort of notification that one of my names needs to be changed. Furthermore, I can’t possibly see how any of my names are offensive or break any rules in the TOS. How do I even find out what name is wrong? I’ve had the same names for months now and never had an issue.
It would be much better customer service if you at least sent an email explaining why the user’s account is being suspended instead of simply kicking the user out of the game and giving them a blanket error message.
