Guild Wars 2

Greetings! I’ve seen a lot of previewing of the Path of Fire expansion recently, and it got my interest back in playing GW2 (stopped paying 4-5 years ago).

I have a simple question regarding whether or not i have to upgrade to Hearths of Thorns.
The reason being that since i want to return to GW2 i most likely would like to experience some of the story provided by this expansion. Now that there is a new expansion on the horizon (PoF) do i need to purchase HoT as well in order to play it?

It got extra confusing to me, since there is an upgrade button for purchasing HoT in my game panel on the website which just forwards me to the purchasing page for the new Path of Fire expansion page.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ever since i’ve gotten this game i got this weird isseu regarding my game crashing every time i type a / in chat.

An example would be /whisper (and at this space point my game freezes completely without giving me an error). I have no idea how this is possible and i’ve never experienced this problem anywhere else. Not just /whisper crashes the game, stuff like /dance /say /team or any other / related thing. Anyone has ideas?
