I just opened up my laptop last week and cleaned everything out and reapplied heat sink compound and everything – and the heat clocks in at a normal temperature from what I’ve been monitoring on GPU-Z. Plus I have a cooling rack for it.
I have the computer plugged in at all times. I can’t give you guys specific figures right now because since I unplugged my battery pack and put it back in, it has been working since this morning.
Hey all,
I am coming to you guys for help because I’ve noticed how helpful everyone on the forums is, and I’m having a hard time finding an answer elsewhere.
I have an Alienware m15x laptop, and when I run GW2, I usually do ‘autodetect’ setting and it works like a dream, even in enemy zerg fights in WvW.
Lately, however, for seemingly no reason at all, my FPS will drop to around 8 or less (from 40-60). I looked at my PCI Bus interface and it randomly goes down to x1 @1.1. I realize this is what is breaking my FPS down, but I’m not sure how to rectify it.
I have noticed, that if I turn off my computer, remove the battery, wait around 30 seconds and plug it back in, everything is fine. Nothing else works though.
Is there a problem with my battery, or do you think it is something else? I am at my wits end, because while running GPU-Z I see that all the various parameters are well within normal.
