Just getting back to the game after a 2 yr break, looking to play my Ele again. When I left I was playing D/D and liking the playstyle. I know the HoT maps are pretty intense for solo playing, so I am wondering if you folks can help me decide what stats are best for this.

Runes
Sigils

and what Ascended recipes I should get.

Actually, you may or may not know this, I sure as kitten didnt, but when you activate the lvl 80 boost you are ported to the Silverwastes to “try out” the character before you commit. You can play the entire zone if you like I believe, then you go back to the lvl 80 Boost “vendor” and make your decision to keep it or move on to another character to test out.

I pondered this same question Saturday morning as HoT finished installing. I went ahead and did the Rev 80 boost. As for perspective, I am exactly the same type of PVE with the occasional PvP player. My advice to you, the majority of the QQ and negative comments toeards Revs is the hardcore PVP players making a fuss about nerfs. Thats fine, I get it. In regards to YOUR playstyle, I feel you will enjoy it very much. The ranged Hammer playstyle has made me wonder why I waited as long as I did to buy HoT. My god..I had a ton of fun. I have yet to dive into Raids or Fractals and honestly the fact so many talk about how Revs have to run Herald to be useful worries me a bit. I dont conform to meta builds and player base requirements. I play how I wanna play.

Do it, have fun, and play how you want with whatever build you want. Kitten the meta

Like the title says, Im looking for some idea on what type of gear to shoot for. I just used my lvl 80 boost on a Rev. I dont really pay attention to the negative comments on this class, Im just playing to have fun in my spare time. Meta builds dont mean anything to me either, Im mostly just doing open world stuff, occasional 5 man and Fractals with MAYBE a raid someday.

My weapons will be Hammer/Staff. It seems like a very upfront, in the face style of play so I dont know if I would need any Vitality/Toughness gear, or go straight Berserker and nuke. And with this weapon set, maybe point me to a build.

Trying to figure out which dye is closest to the purple/pinkish goop that we sling. I use GS/Staff if that matters. Any help getting me this info is much appreciated.

My main character and any other toon I try to port into HH are getting the Network Error bug crash. My main is unplayable because it is stuck in that one, how do I get it reset so I can maybe go to a one that is working?
