This is literally the first time I’ve ever clicked on this forum and when I saw this thread I was blown away. This is exactly the type of art/portrait I’ve been thinking about since launch. As in “Wow, I wish I could draw an epic picture of my character like some of this fan art Anet posts on social media.” Well now I found you, so it’s okay I have trouble drawing stick figures! Seriously, amazing work.

I know you’ve stopped the queue, but I can wait however long with no problem and I’ve already bookmarked the thread so I can check back when you’re accepting for more again. Just wanted to pay compliments and say that you’ll have more ‘business’ from me for at least one of mine and my husband’s characters when you start it up again. Super impressed!

The Unholy Mackerels [UM] PvX Fort Aspenwood

in Guilds

My husband and I joined UM a little over a month ago and we would highly recommend it to everyone looking for a casual, fun, competent guild. We had been members of a guild before that did not work out for us — we felt pressure to be on every night to carry the dungeon groups because there weren’t enough members, there was drama everywhere…it was really ruining the GW2 experience for us.

Luckily, we have experienced none of that since joining UM. After posting on the forums looking for a guild, I got a mass of responses and we narrowed it down to 4 guilds we wanted to try and guest with so we didn’t end up in our previous situation again. UM was our third guesting experience and we never even had to guest with our 4th because we knew it was for us. As full time students who also work, we thought with a new guild we would be able cut back on our hours. And we can, but we find ourselves liking the guild so much we’re on almost as much as we were before.

We’ve done everything with the guild so far — missions, WvW, PvE, (some people even joined us for sPvP) and are currently in a group collecting the last paths for dungeon master. I’d also like to point out that my husband and I won the Lawn Dart event which video is linked in the post prior to this one. We made out with 20g between the two of us, and it was also hilarious. We haven’t had a bad experience doing any PvP or PvE events, and I am aware of zero drama (which has been a lovely change). The fact that the main weekly events are scheduled and consistent really works out for those with busy schedules or those that don’t want to get on every night, but just want to log on for certain events. However, impromptu dungeon runs or WvW, etc. also happen for those that are on every night, before and after the regularly scheduled events.

If you’re concerned about the relatively steep price (either gold or real money) for the gems to transfer to Fort Aspenwood (eventually, since the guild allows you plenty of time before its necessary to transfer), I’d just advise you that my husband and I haven’t regretted it once. It’s a great server and it really changes the game experience to not only have a good guild, but a good world to play in.

Everyone has been really friendly and happy to help right from the beginning, and I’d like to think we are now included in that group. We recently brought another friend from our previous guild over, and he’s settled in really well too. I’d encourage anyone looking for a reasonable PvX guild to give UM a try or at least talk to one of the officers about it. Hopefully you’d be as happy in your new home as we’ve been!

LF semi-casual, mature guild

I am looking for a guild for both me and my husband. I posted here a few months ago looking for a guild and we found one, but unfortunately I guess I forgot to emphasize “mature” enough. Despite us being the youngest members, we’ve now been drowning in drama that is ruining what we would like to be a fun gaming experience (isn’t that the point?). So I would like to reiterate “mature,” not necessarily “old”! We’re definitely not serious people and we are pretty bad jokers, so I don’t mean no fun — I just mean no drama!

We are both graduate students so we don’t like to be tied down to a strict schedule, but we are on most nights and like having people to do dungeons/fractals, etc. We are also interested in some casual WvW, but the world we transferred to to be with our guild consistently gets trounced every week, so we haven’t done as much as we’d like. We are in CST, and ideally would like to have people that are on around the same time as us. We’ve had challenges running things that start late and so do not end around midnight on school/work nights which is what we aim for. We are not particularly interested in guild missions, but we are happy to participate if needed.

We each have two fully exotic/ascended geared 80s (Warrior, Mesmer, Guardian, Engineer). We are willing to transfer worlds if we find the right guild.

Reader’s digest version: We’re looking for a non-strict schedule, low-drama guild that’s probably a bit silly but still has competent players that can get through some of the more difficult content. I would be happy to receive forum PMs from any recruiters that think their guild may be a good fit for us!

Looking for casual PvE/PvX guild

in Guilds

I’m looking for a casual (or perhaps semi-casual is a better term) guild for me and my husband. (He has an 80 Mesmer and I have an 80 Guardian and Ranger). We played the game at launch, took a break for a few months whilst overwhelmed by school, and have returned for some time. We’ve always been guild-less (in GW2 at least!) and we were fairly happy that way. However, since returning we’ve found that it is impossible to pug a group that can even get through the more challenging dungeons, let alone in a reasonable amount of time.

We’re both full time graduate students and we definitely don’t want a guild that is going to micro-manage our specs or make us get up at 2am for WvW. We’re fairly active most weekdays and more so on weekends, and we’d simply like competent, mature people to do dungeons or PvP or other things with with during those times.

Not being able to find reasonable people to play with (and get through content) is kind of becoming game-breaking for us, so we’d be ecstatic to find a place where we can fit. We’re in NA so we’d like to keep it somewhere around out time zone to make sure we get the most out of the guild. We’re currently on Crystal Desert but we’d be happy to guest as a trial or eventually even transfer if need be if we can find the right guild.
