I played just after release with some friends and played until level cap then they decided the game wasn’t for them. I always thought the game was brilliant and had quite a good time. I am now coming back to the game but since my departure a lot has changed and everything feels somewhat daunting, which is great because everything feels fresh, but I am also a bit at a loss on where to go from here.

I am a level 80 Engineer, could use some advice on a good way to gear up considering at this particular moment I don’t have a guild and will probably be doing a lot of solo play. I enjoy PvP more than anything but do enjoy a good dungeon or raid.

What will be a good way to gear up for both PvP and PvE? Any suggestions on content I should be focusing on? I am sure my build is not efficient in any way so would anyone have advice for a build that I can work towards that would be effective in the upcoming expansion?

I appreciate any help people have to offer.

I am relatively new to the game so I have not been around for changes but is it that thieves were once a bit easier to play and now they have a bit more of a learning curve but can still kitten?

Regardless of the current state of thief I would still like to know a nice efficient and effective thief build for wvw if anyone can point me in a direction to work towards.

Been playing GW2 for about a couple months now and sort of came to the conclusion that me and a friend both like wvw roam. I have been experimenting with some engineer builds but my friend and I have decided on going thief. Looking for some input on a good wvw build to start for both of us. Like I said out main focus is wvw and we are both going to be thieves. Any help on what are some decent builds to run that way we sort of have a basline to work from.

Appreciate the input, I do like to play high learning curve classes in games, imo they usually turn out to be really good when mastered. I think I will probably end up as a Mesmer, but I think today I will give Ele a chance before I make any final decision.

I am a new player to the game and am thoroughly impressed with what Arenanet has done. I read quite a bit that went against what I usually find fun in a game but I find myself enjoying the environment that has been created for us. I used to be a hardcore player but after the birth of my daughter I have become a more casual player. I am mainly interested in PvP but I do love a challenging dungeon. I was looking for some suggestions on an effective class that can shine, of course in the right hands. I am not afraid to die many times and spend hours learning a class inside and out, but I would like a class that has a skill/ability set that has the potential to shine in both 1v1 and WvW, these areas are of my main interest. Suggestions for PVE are definitely appreciated but my main focus is PvP. I have tried all the classes and have found the Engineer, Mesmer and Necro classes to be the most enjoyable. I am currently at a point where I don’t want to progress with a class, as I am a purest in the sense that I like to stick to one class, and don’t want to choose a class that is completely inept at the areas of PvP I want to focus on.

I will do some sPvP but like I said, I reallly enjoy 1v1s and WvW.
