Disallow transfering to servers you are currently matched again. This would solve a lot of issues while people will still be free to transfer where they really want, in worst case after a week.
There are several means to get out of wvw. For example yesterday I queued for one zone, it was full so I went into another one. Just so happened that when I was running from zerg the queue for first zone popped
I think you can always click “Be in the mists” too.
The main niche I see for necro right now is shutting down guardian. Which in the current meta with every single team running a guardian isn’t all that bad. But what makes it problematic is although you can shut down a guardian very well, solo you can’t really kill them. I mean you can but it takes long enough that you can’t do it before they get backup. Meaning you are only really useful running with another class who can do the dps to bring down the guardian while you neutralize them.
Conditionmancer right now weak in 1v1 because it only has access to one damaging condition. Necro really needs access to either burning or confusion as well to make it decent at anything besides shutting down guardians in a group situation.
I switched from necro to guardian and never have any issue with necros with my build 1v1. In a group it is a nuisance but I condition rangers and engineers are more of a threat.
Your solution is too drastic but the point is true: WvW is now determined by PvE, not PvP. Since killing players has no effect on the score itself it is preferable to take objectives where/when there is least resistance…
The deeper issue is that WvW is not competitive (skill and tactics are not leading contributor to victory), has no progression or rewards, has slippery slope and is plagued with technological/server issues (queues, invisible people). If the situation remains as is I have no doubt people will do WvW less and less as time goes on. Perhaps when less casuals will play it the problem will go away on itself, I doubt the night players would like to pve vs castle defender mobs years and years on otherwise empty server.
Thing is there is no point to kill the giant itself now, too much HP too little reward.
I doubt it. The lag is server side (I rather doubt that it is done client side, game would be too hackable otherwhise). Basically server is being swarmed with a lot of commands and because there are a lot of people in single area abilities like AoE ones can affect multiple people so it has to calculate the effects but because of lag it takes too long and commands are getting dropped.
While these are all valid issues there is something else that straight out kills fun of PvP – server lag.
In case there is a lot of people fighting at the same time enemies don’t all load and you only can guess where they are at and AoE. This kills strategy as you cannot determine how big the enemy force is. I guess the issue is with the amount of data the server has to send about enemy players in the vicinity and it has to be reduced.
Another one is ability lag. This issually happens in very huge zergy battles and is more prevalent in Ethernal Battlegrounds. Not all skills are affected equally. However PvPing when you have to press heal 20 times until server recognizes that sucks.
Not sure if other servers have the same issue, this is happening on Vabbi (EU).
Currently have 250k karma and there is nowhere in the game to spend it. Have full exotic everything and can’t be bothered with legendaries as it is just a skin. So what should I do with it? Because I still do WvW with this character it just keeps growing (as do the badges but at least you can buy siege with them). Seems to me pointless to have special currency that still accumulates at endgame with no endgame options to spend it.

Progression beyond numbers? Well if you already have an armor and weapon that you think looks the best and have all BIS gears statwise there is no reason for you do do anything at all other than fun factor.
I have all my items crafted and transmuted to get the skins I want and consider legendaries ugly. There is no reason for me to set foot into the dungeon ever again and karma/badges/tokens all are completely and utterly useless to me. The ONLY thing I ever need is gold and it is not that difficult to get. When you have everything you don’t even need that because there are no worthwhile gold sinks.
If I had no guild & friends and desire to try other classes I would no longer be playing.
Now that launch issues are mostly solved I think it is time for some balance changes. A class with only single viable build (and not the most effective in that), poor damage and half the traits bugged should be at the top of their priority list, no? One can only hope…
There is a gap in character model at the waist when female character is wearing certain sets, like the one attached. Not a significant issue, just annoying
