You, or your friends, can transfer at no cost by deleting all characters and transferring the account, and all account-bound items.
Or, you can exchange Gold for Gems.
Good luck.
don’t move to very high populated servers, it costs more and you will have longer queues for WvW…
if you move to the high populated server, it’s 1000 gems, right? that should be around 180g… and as you will move to the server where some of you already are, you can support each other, so the one who will stay pays half the cost for his friend who will be moving to his server for example, that would be 90g each, that’s not that much… and you can farm some dungeons together to make it faster you can also sell your materials from bank to make money fast…
or move to the medium populated server and it’s just 500 gems, even easier, but with less people in WvW… but with less people playing, every person have higher impact imo, but I don’t WvW much, so it’s just a guess
Ah.. The past week I’ve been checking on the server list several times every day. I’ve checked around 5-6 am, 12-1pm, and 9-10pm. Literally every US server in the list is either full or very high no matter what time of day I check.. Meaning it’s at least 1800 gems to transfer. That’s either around $25 or 300 gold pieces per person. And with about 10 people across 6 different servers that would like to WvW together, that’s quite a bit of money/time to spend. Plus that doesn’t even factor in the cost of the expansion if we decided to buy it.
I was hoping that maybe they would make it possible to transfer servers once after installing the expansion, or at least lessen the cost, but if they don’t then I don’t see myself buying/playing the expansion. Thanks anyway.
Whenever I bought GW2 a couple years ago, I picked a server randomly. Played the game and had some fun, but later on I found out that several friends, including my brother, also owned the game. However, we were all spread out across different servers. My brother ended up paying to transfer to my server so that we could play together. Eventually I got bored with the game and stopped playing.
Then the megaserver was introduced and I decided to come back and play with my friends. Had some fun, and since I was getting back into the game I decided to try out WvW for the first time with my brother. I had a blast with it and now its what I play the majority of the time I log in. Eventually though, it grew dull because I was just playing with myself all the time. Yeah I joined some guilds and played with them, but I just felt like I was just another number added to the group.. So after a little while I stopped playing again.
Now that I just heard about the new expansion coming out, I got interested in the game once more. However, the biggest draw of the game for me and a couple friends is WvW. But since we currently can’t play together, I’m not really sure that I will buy the expansion unless there’s a way that I’ll be able to play WvW with my friends without collectively spending 100’s of dollars on server transfer fees alone.
It isn’t a ‘legit question’.
To me, Red and green are nothing like each other. OTOH shades of blue and green have always been a bit difficult to tell apart. Eyes differ from person to person and being colour-blind isn’t a yes/no matter.
The colours on a CRT or LED screen are a manufactured standard Red, Blue, Green to match the spectral response of a ‘normal’ human eye. That makes the three primaries the most clearly distinguishable colours for most people.
Using a different set to accommodate people with a disability would be like removing all stairs everywhere and replacing them with wheelchair ramps.
If someone has a disability that’s tough but it’s no reason why everyone else should have to share in it.
Do you even know how colorblindness works? Of course red and green look different to YOU.
And your analogy doesn’t really work for a number of reasons. Replacing all stairs with wheelchair ramps would come at a cost(other than the cost required to actually implement said ramps), and that cost is physical space. If ramps took up just as much space as stairs and were just as effective in any scenario, stairs would most likely cease to exist for the most part. I know thats impossible, because ramps can’t be used everywhere, such as places that have a steep incline and would thus hinder the average person.
Whereas a simple color change in a game would not hinder the average player whatsoever. Not to mention it could simply be an option to check in the graphics menu. If stairs were replaced with ramps, people wouldn’t have an option to use them or not.
Also, wheelchair accessible entrances are legally required in many public places, so yeah. And as for private businesses or such.. Well then fine, don’t accommodate to people’s needs. Don’t expect to get any business from them.
The Alpine Wolf companion’s F2 ability for the Ranger, Chilling Howl, states in the description that the chill effect is meant to last 5+ seconds long, however it only lasts for 2 seconds.
It’s really killing the usefulness of the Alpine Wolf.
