Logging on yesterday brought a nice surprise for myself and a friend. I wasn’t expecting ANet to go all out on the Halloween Event. Wonderful job and a LOT of fun indeed!

Overview
As a relatively new guy on the MMO scene I thought it would be a great idea to “start” with Guild Wars 2. I saw, “relatively new,” because I played quite a bit of SWTOR but, in honesty, didn’t enjoy it all that much after a certain point. The balancing as a Sith Sorcerer was awful.
I ended up doing very little research into Guild Wars 2, my reasoning being that I didn’t want to build up a load of personal hype and then be let down as so many people can be. I had no idea what I was really getting into in terms of story, gameplay and lore. Sure, I’d seen TotalBiscuit playing some WvWvW, but that didn’t give me all that much information. That only made me crave the game. So… maybe there was a little hype…

After that hype? I was not disappointed…

My Plan
I aim to provide regular coverage of my Norn Warrior throughout his storyline. The content will be in a standard let’s play format of video and commentary. The first two episodes had the commentary recorded after the gameplay so I could give my honest thoughts, and my undivided attention, to the game. The rest of the series is, and will be, a live commentary. Should I find a spot where I have nothing to say, I’ll add in some commentary in post-production, or just leave it silent. I should probably cut out some of my wafflin’ too…

Why The Norn Warrior?
Personally, I wanted something that sounded like a beast. After being a wimpy little shmit in SWTOR, I wanted something that just looked kitten. So I went with a Norn Warrior… with a beard.
What Are Your Plans After The LP?
I’ll either move into a lot more informative content (walkthroughs, tutorials, etc…) or I will roll another, completely different character and do the same with him/her.

AEN is a new YouTube Network that is designed to help smaller gaming content creators grow into the stars of tomorrow.

Most, if not all, YouTube Networks will require you to have an average of 30,000 views per month. The reason for this is so that they can place ads on your channel and your videos. It’s also required for you to get the banner that YouTube Partners have. We don’t have this requirement, at least, ours is a lot smaller.

Secondly, we cannot place ads on your channel, or videos. As stated, we are simply a stepping stone on the path to success.

Finally, we are all about helping out our fellow YouTuber. We want to help get professional content out to the masses in any way that we can, and that’s just it. Professional content. We can’t, and won’t, support your channel if it’s just thrown together in five minutes. We won’t support your channel if you aren’t putting work into it on your own. There would be no point. As we support you, we expect that same level of support back. Not only that, but we would be inclined to offer you a feature slot on the main channel, TheAlienEarth. This would be something you would have to come up with, it would have to be original and would have to be pitched to us before being given the go-ahead.

I want to see the network cover a series of games. I want variety. I want to see some amazing GW2 commentators band together to provide some professional, top quality content.

This is your Tyrian Update for September 14th 2012!

Another aspect of my GW2 Channel, is a series of walkthroughs. I plan on covering all of the Dungeons in GW2, however I’ll need to get there first! I’ll probably end up covering various Dynamic Events at some point or other!

So, I’m sure that title is a bit of a bold statement, but that’s good.

Put simply, I aim to be the number one provider of GW2 content and coverage. While you may look and see that my channel (http://youtube.com/conflictnerd) is relatively new and has only a small number of videos, and while this may make you think that I am just some guy who thinks he can “master” YouTube in a week, let me tell you a quick story.

I’ve been providing gaming media for YouTube for the past 18 months, not on this channel, but an older one. (http://youtube.com/thealienearth) Over the course of those 18 months, I produced over 600 videos for that channel, many of which were deleted across the lifespan of the channel. So, I’m not new to the field of informative content, gaming content and coverage.

Currently, I am aiming to provide at least two GW2 videos per day. With weekly features such as the Tyrian Update. My content will be ranging from a Norn Warrior LP to Dynamic Event Walkthroughs, Dungeon Walkthroughs and so on. My progressions as a content provider depends on my progression in the game itself.

I won’t ask people to blindly subscribe for no reason at all. That would be pointless.
