Forcing players to complete dungeons = bad I think

With the large number of posts regarding the PvP as part of the monthlies, I don’t think it was a minority. And they had already given way to a vocal “minority” of PvP players who wanted their own monthlies.

sPvP players having their own monthlies and dailies is reasonable, because they have a completely different set of progression laid out for them. WvW on the other hand is not PvP, it’s better to call it a ‘PvE race’ with enemy players roaming around.

There was no justification at all in taking out WvW from monthlies. It was only taken out to satisfy the lazy and “privileged”. As a result they also slapped two player demographics, (the WvW crowd and Jacks of all trades), on their hands and telling them that “WvW is bad”.

Actually the WvW achievement was due to dissapear from the rotation (for at least one month). It’s the only achievement in the monthly that has been running from august (launch) through january. Ohter achievements (also the dungeon achievement) have been used far less in the rotation.

Excellent article on Horizontal progression

Foolish that you guys are crying about gear treadmills and grinding in an MMORPG. I mean how stupid can you be to buy into something like “horizontal progression”, it’s the same as NO progression. So stop crying and HOPE for vertical progression or enjoy your game dying at it’s current rate.

It’s the rate of progression that your worried about, not progression in itself, it should be assumed that if you quit playing GW2 for a year your going to have some work to do to get caught up, if not then why in the world would you even come back to begin with????

Just take one second to try your best and comprehend the situation, I’m sorry anet confused you all with their manifesto, It’s an MMORPG there will be progression of some sort don’t know why they would state differently.

I’m sorry:
-higher stats makes the game easier → reverse progression
-no stat increase makes you work harder to achieve more difficult content → progression as a player

I really don’t understand the reasoning for adding a gap closer with higher stats when Legendary’s didn’t have higher stats before the expansion, the gap that had to be closed was simple: time and effort to get a weapon with same stats but a ‘legendary’ skin. In my opinion the gap that had to be closed was: introduction of legendary armor (with no stat increase), since there is, to my knowledge, no legendary armor in game. Even worse, the stats of Legendary’s will probably be increased to the new ascended standard. Which means they do not fill a gap between excotic and legendary, they actually create an additional gap between excotic and legendary.

I also don’t understand the reasoning that if you add more content, the armor you should have should be better (ref: GW1 → 3 campaigns + 1 expansion → no increase in stats on gear nor on weapons).

I don’t know yet if I think it is a bad thing (I am probably going to try and get it anyway), but i’m very dissappointed in the reasoning as it is clearly flawed.

Lifetime Survivor achievement bugged

They changed the survivor title in GW1. During the time I played GW1 it was simply 0 deaths for 3×20 levels (1 death was enough for the title to fail for that character).

I think in 2011 or even 2012 they changed it to the way it is now in GW1.

Also the title didn’t show at all in GW1 unless you got to a certain level.

In short:
If they used the initial GW1 method of obtaining the survivor title, the counter will probably not increase until you are level xx and 0 deaths are allowd.
