Same thing happened to me last night. Missed out on a Gold Chest.
Some of you might’ve noticed that the option to move on to the next round pops up instantly upon a win sometimes. My theory is that upon entering the new round before you’re sent out to the Heart of the Mists, you may miss the chest.
Again, this is merely a theory and it might turn out to be false.
I usually safe-mode and wait until i’m being sent out of the current round before entering the new one.

As mentioned above, it’s not all about getting the highest tier items. Since they’re only for show, you should try to find a set of items that you like and look up the required reagents, no matter what tier it is. I bet some people will go for the highest tiered items just for bragging, but some of the best looking sets (in my opinion) are not too hard to obtain.

Same thing happened to me countless times. Sometimes it shows up eventually after some time, and sometimes it just goes missing.
