Upgrade $20 value, but $25 to buy w/ gems?

First off, I’m not complaining that new players get the upgrade for free. I understand Anet wants to entice new people to buy the game. Also I searched the forums a little bit to see if this has been mentioned but I couldn’t find anything about this specific complaint. If it’s been talked about before, I’m sorry.

For the promotion it’s stated:
“For a limited time, buy Guild Wars 2 and get a free upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition (a $20 value), which includes a host of in-game items along with the exclusive Wizard’s Hat.”

A $20 value. If I log in right now and want to purchase the upgrade for my existing account, it costs 2000 gems. 1600 gems is the $20 mark, so 2000 gems would be $25. (yay maths)

So my problem is that current players pay $5 above anet’s stated value for the upgrade. That just doesn’t seem right. Maybe they’re counting on people not doing the math, or maybe they didn’t do the math. I do not know. But it sure does stink.

Edit: Fixed some grammar issues.

No social interaction between players?

Did you make sure to “represent” the guild? Once you accept the invite, you have to go back to the guild tab, and click a button that says represent. Otherwise you don’t see guild chat and can’t speak in guild chat. This also puts the guild tag next to your character name that other people can see. A few friends and I didn’t notice that little mechanic for a bit either, it’s not exactly an obvious step in the process of joining a guild.

I imagine this is so you can be in and interact with different guilds for different characters. Since you have to click represent on each of your characters, each character can then represent different guilds. Like maybe you want your main in a hardcore pvp and dungeon group. Maybe your other characters you want in a more casual setting.

Hope this helped.
