The fact is that player MMR has been so mucked up as a result of the first three seasons, coupled with new players getting average MMR. As a result, the full circle back to season 1 MMR is now equally as mucked.
I think the original season one would have been the best (pure ranked MMR at that point) had it not been for the smurfing, legends carrying amber teammates and bunker mesmer issues.
Sadly we can’t get to that now. I truly hope Anet has a good solution in mind for the next iteration of seasons.

At the beginning Anet introduced a league with 4 Seasons so far with S4 beeing the last. They know that they delivered a not so good system by the end of S1. They tried to fix S2 and S3 but it did not work. By the end of S3 they knew that this kind of league/system would not work. So they gave up this season. S4 was sloppy introduced with MM S1. They put no effort in it and there is not even a title yet.
Let’s be honest this hole system from S1 to S4 was/is a huge joke in this game. It maybe would have worked in another game but not GW2. But I am not even disappointed at S4 because Anet can not change the hole pip system in the last season. My guess is that they work on a total different system. But my hope for that is close to non existent.
Unfortunatly Anet prefers to reward the casuals and make the game more and more easier. This can not be healthy.
Maybe this idea gets some attention…someday…

Dont get me wrong Ellie, jade quarry and alliance battles were fun but not as competetive as GvG. If you wanted to be good at GvG you need a decent team and teamspeak/ventrilo etc to make the right moves at the right time. Jade quarry and alliance battle were max 4 player per team with 3 other 4 man team (totaly random) if I remember correctly. This is more WvW in my opinion.
But that is not my point.
My point is, that this game needs different modes and other incentives (PvP only) to play for.

I guess we all know that if we can only queue with 5 man in the current mode (conquest) the PvP community will decline very fast.
Other players idea (including me) is to get different game modes like GW 1.
Random Arena = soloQ (team death match)
Hall of Hero’s = 5 man
GvG = 5 man
I dont list the other casual “PvP” modes because they were not competetive.
So except RA, you were forced to get not 5 but 8 people together to play. And it worked super perfect (ask every GW 1 player)
I dont see why those game mode cant be implemented
My idea (link on page one) is surely not perfect but the sad part is that there is no feedback at all (good or bad)
Well, I kinda had high hopes that this idea would reach a lot of players…
So many player want changes, but just a few realise that GW2 PvP needs more game modes like GW1. I bet that with those changes the PvP community would skyrocket.
The current conquest mode is bad for people who like to soloq. Different gamemodes like GW 1 (Random Arena, Hall of Hero’s and GvG) would increase the pvp community a lot.
But I guess that is just my opinion (or noone knows how good PvP in GW 1 was/is)

I played like 5 stronghold games…this gamemode needs a lot of improvement. The current status is unplayable
if you have one game mode it doesnt matter if you queue solo or with a team, but with different game modes it is a huge difference
I am on the OP’s side for “5 man team’s”
But there has to be one solo game mode (aka Random Arena) for players who realy dont want to make a group/team.
I usualy dont advertise my post from for few days but I think the idea could work for everyone Please take the time and read it and tell me what you guys think.

Since the PvP forum is filled with topics like bad matchmaking, bad balance, bad player, bad everything, I just want to share my ideas on how to make PvP more enjoyable and rewarding for real PvPers. I know that there are hundreds of topics with ideas but I will feel better when you guys know it as well.
My background of Guild Wars is, playing GW 1 from start (roughly 7 years) and GW 2 from Beta until today. Most of the time playing PvP. Not super pro but decent.
This is important, because that is why I am “a bit” biased from GW 1.
I put all my ideas into one presentation because it would not fit in one post.

What type of structure would you find interesting for leagues and ladders?
I would like to see something similar to GW1. Daily automated tournaments for earning qualification points, which qualifies your team for playing the monthly tournament.How long should a season last?

I wouldnt. Everyone can join the daily tournaments, those who arent skilled enough for getting the QP´s need to improve. Everyone whos willing to improve will participate anyway.
Oh, and rewards for daily tournaments of course, everyone who has a lil bit of fun with pvp will try to archive them anyway if they´re big enough.
I would like to see this happen.

Almost r45 and still searching for a Team

Currently I am r43 and can fulfill the role as a bunker Guardian. I know how and when to rotate and to push. My highest ranking in Team Leaderboards so far was 90. But then my Team disbanned due to boringness. I also have TS or Vent plus Mic.
I am looking for a decent Team who:
- knows how to play (rotate, push, battelfield awareness, etc.)
- doesn’t rage
- has fun
Playtimes are usually around 8 or 9 till open end. (If I am not on I am busy with RL)
I am looking forward to hearing from you.

How many rankpoints are possible in Hotjoin, SoloQ and TeamQ?If you win.
I played Hotjoin and had around 250 points BUT got just 200 at the end. Is there a cap at 200 points?
And for SoloQ you get (if you win) 150 points bonus…gw2wiki says 400!!
Dont know about TeamQ…
