Thank you very much for list, as these bugs have been getting increasingly frustrating haha. I dont remember if i saw on your list, but the trait that turns turrets to ground targetting spells only works for certain turrets. But that trait works fine in Heart of the Mists, theres some kind of bug outside of HotM that makes this happen.

And someone did ask you not to swear: ArenaNet, in their rules. You chose to ignore those rules, and discovered that ArenaNet is strict about them.

Or how about this, instead of ArenaNet sending mixed messages (a.k.a. the language filter that implies it’s ok, and that says “if you don’t like swearing then turn this on”) they censor everything in game, like runescape and many other games do, where nobody would ever see any profanity even the people saying it. That I would be ok with and it wouldn’t send mixed messages to people like me. I read the rules of conduct plenty of times before release (because I was so excited for the game) but when i log in and see a language filter, it makes me think I can do it to a certain extent.

I don’t know if someone should be playing video games, let alone be on the internet if a few petty things bother them. “Behaving yourself in a videogame setting” made me giggle a little bit. Come on, we play video games to have fun and let ourselves go and do things that we can’t normally do in real life (like play a Charr engineer), not to be uptight and paranoid if we offended some random person on the internet.

I’m almost inclined to not playing this game at all. I just do not like being around closed minded bigot’s(yes bigots), who probably somewhere in their lifetime has said something 10x’s worse than what they reported someone for saying in chat.

I’m on the same boat bro lol, preaching to the choir. Unfortunately this game is extremely fun and I’ve been waiting a long time, so I can’t give up that easily. I just don’t want to feel like I’m running for office while playing this game, where everything I say or do gets dissected.

This whole thing is silly. People who use lousy language need to grow up, and people offended by it need to grow up and just block the person and go on their way. It’s taking far too much effort to go through and witch hunt all of these people down and give them 14 day bans. The end user agreement is directed for those that purposefully abuse the chat with non stop rubbish, not for those that say something you deem unacceptable, which is purely subjective.

Thats the the thing though, I’ve barely talked in this game, unless its to guildies, and received a suspension. If I was “non-stop” trolling, speaking rubbish, cursing, etc., then sure ban me, but most people receiving suspensions for minor and petty situations. After my suspension is over I’m probably not going to talk in chat at all, which is sad since I’m playing a game that tries to encourage interaction with other players

Wrong, that vast majority does not care at all. We are on the internet after all, just thought I’d remind you. And if someone did care so much, a simple /ignore and check box in language filter would do the trick.

It sucks to have to be paranoid about stuff like that when we play games to relax, not get taut and stressed. I don’t want to play this game if it’s going to be like this, but I really do like this game. So I lose either way. I was never mean to a single person, but if they interpret it that way and report me, I’m going to get banned apparently.

We live in a world where we focus on persecuting the people who bother other people with their words. But what the most profound people have learned, is that anyone can be offended by anything. So instead of working on persecuting people, we need to work on toughening our skin so that if someone says something mean, it doesn’t affect us. Idealistically, one wouldn’t even care if someone walked up to them and cussed them out then walked away. I feel like that’s what we should work towards.

Very well said. I’m on a 3 day suspension that ends tomorrow, and first of all I dont even know what I said, and secondly if anything I said was THAT offensive to someone then I don’t know if I’m going to be able to play. I play games to relax with friends and have fun. As soon as I log on tomorrow till I dont play anymore, Im going to be paranoid about getting banned for anything I say, nobody should have to feel like that.

Lol exactly. I just know from now on, when my brother and I (whenever he gets his account back) log in we will be paranoid at the the fact that we might be banned/suspended. It sucks, but oh well what can you do.

I appreciate you putting words in my mouth Cassius. Something cant be offensive if it didn’t happen, I thought that was a pretty simple implication of my words. But anyways i feel for you Dan, if its 2 weeks then you probably already had marks on your account or it was something serious.

I know how you feel bro. Luckily my “racial slur” suspension is only 3 days when i can’t even remember saying anything as well, if I got an email Id at least be able to say “oh yeah oops” then laugh it off and wait but I got nothing so I’m still paranoid as to what happened. With the way things have been going lately I’m honestly afraid that when i try to log in tomorrow, when the suspension ends, that Ill be banned for even longer possibly for something that I don’t know about. My brother got permanently banned yesterday for RMT when he was gone all weekend with school stuff, and they didn’t email him or anything either. Its so unfortunate cause i love this game to death but if these things keep happening to myself or close ones I don’t know if I’ll be able to play in fear of it happening again. Customers shouldn’t have to play a game being paranoid or in fear of getting banned constantly.

Also the trait in Tools that turns turrets into ground targetting abilities only turns rocket turret and healing turret into ground targetting, rifle and flame do not. The trait works just fine in Heart of the Mists, but outside it does not.
