It’s not a matter of it being vital or not. It’s a matter of event content being (or not) available to every and all players regardless of their WvW standings.
Where’s the “challenge” when you walk inside the cage-like zone of the jumping puzzle and there are 30 people camped on the top who just keep you in combat to lower your speed?
Event rewards in WvW, really…? How on EARTH did those pirates get to the WvW maps anyway? It’s a total fail from any and all perspectives.
