Well, this is something special. Be back once I actually install and update the game. (werk werk). On a side note, currently kicking self in head repeatedly for not getting into this game earlier.

Well, seems like after a bit more digging + replies here, seems like I’ll be running warrior and guardian first. Probably be running them concurrently until I play enough to decide which one I’ll be sticking to first.

@redhare – Thanks for the link. Awesome video.

@SynfulChaot – Necro seems to be an interesting choice. Might put that at no 3 slot of stuff to be tried.

However, this doesn’t mean that I’m not taking more suggestions. Feel free to disregard some of my preferences if you feel strongly about a certain class’s strengths (but NO GLASS CANNONS!)

Hello GW2,

Just got myself a copy of the game (finally), hopped online to check out all the info I could – and got swamped by a ton of info. I still can’t make sense of the classes (or professions) as in what they’re good for.

Soooo, I’m hoping the community can help me with choosing what class(es) to play first since the classes aren’t clearly defined. Not my first MMO ride so I have an idea of what I want:

- Melee > Ranged
- Tank > DPS > Heal (I think most of the classes can fit more than one role so in that case I prefer Tank + DPS over other role combos)
- Versatility > Focus
- Mobility > Turret
- Survivability > Damage (no glass cannons please!)
- PvE = PvP

Err, that’s all I can think of for now. Hope to get some decent replies soon. In the mean time, I’ll keep on searching the net. And remember, the faster I get suggestions, the faster I join you people.
