Kk thx for the tips. At the momemnt, I am focusing on armored scales, prices fluctuates a lot and profit margin is high. I usually stay on tier 6 mats because there are a lot and prices always keep changing.
Yeah I know, it’s really hard but I want to know what items should I be watching more often then others? Also, I don’t know how people are able to speculate months before, for example chocolate bars, 1month ago, it was 19c per item, now it’s almost 1silver.
I’m so tired of farming, spent like 30hours and the loot is horrible. I often do Claw of Jormag and The Shatterer and loot is always abysmal. I did receive my Ancient Karka chest reward 2 days ago but yeah, loot is mediocre.
I know how to make money (Orr events/farming/dungeons runs + salvage token items for ecto…) but it’s still never enough to get to my 120g cultural armor. Have like 400hours in game and most I ever had was 30g…. so I heard about “flipping” on TP and at first, I made some money on tier 6 mats and I think I just blew all my money on armored scales (have a full stack of them) so anyone know what item should I be flipping? Or any other way of making lots of money?
Hello there,
Just want to know who is interested in helping me craft Foefire Essence? Already got gift of ascalon and eldrich scroll so once we craft it, we sell it 50/50 (200g each).
Tested it in Honor of the Waves path 2-3, really shined in this dungeon, never downed, good support and never taking lots of damage. Here’s my base build stats btw:
-Power: 1589
-Precision: 1841
-Toughness: 1356
-Vitality: 1536
-Attack: 2430
-Critical chance: 48%
-Armor: 2427
-Health 24 572
Change the Sigil of Hydromancy on Rifle (because of quickness cooldown, I can’t activate this sigil) and replaced it with Superior Sigil of Wrath (+10% damage against Sons of Svanir) but I’ll probably take Superior Sigil of Corruption sometime in the future, did the same thing on both of my underwater set (both have Superior Sigil of Wrath).
Alright, tested my new build mostly in PvE, still waiting to try on dungeons:
Focus: Support, Self sustaining warrior Bleed build, 24,5k HP
0/25/15/30/0, same as Stego’s link (same traits)
-Superior Rune of the Soldier (6/6)
-Full Rampager Set on armor
Weapons:
-Sword: Rampager, Sigil: Tried Superior Sigil of Blood but was kinda kitteny so I switched to superior Sigil of Rage which is far better imo.
-Warhorn: Rampager, Superior Sigil of Restoration (very useful if you run a low HP build)
-Rifle: Rampager, Superior Sigil of Hydromancy (useful if you get swarmed/focused when in melee, just switch and then 5th skill)
Trinkets: 3 Soldier Rings/Back (Power, Vitality and toughness I think) and 3 Rampager (power, precision, condition damage)
Overall verdict: I thought this build would be better than expected but its nothing amazing. Just tried out 2hours and PvE only but till now, I’m not impressed. With this kind of build, you must be in a group (can’t really solo in Orr). And yes I am well aware that this ain’t a “tank” build but you can’t take a lot of punishment with this build (and takes a while to kill enemies). Playstyle: Kite, run circles around mobs, pull back if any trouble, pump warhorn 5th skill and then Switch.
Also, if the amount of heal you get from shouts (30 Tactic slot), try banner, grants regen for the whole party and be sure to take the 20% recharge trait for banners.
Guys, you are so helpful. I feel kinda guilty because I can’t really add anything more, you covered most of my problems and yes, I’m having so much problems with PUG groups, Arena Net should REALLY add a voice chat option.
I’ve taken a look at your suggestions and the link you showed me is great. I love rifle and Sword+ Warhorn is amazing. What I am mostly looking at is survivability and support while still being able to do damage.
I think I’ll go 0/25/15/30/0 and about the runes, I think I’ll go with full Soldier’s Rune (Shout removing condition looks nice, I use it in PvP) or something that gives stability. I often kite with rifle so that’s not a real problem but sometimes I feel useless when I’m pulling out and my party members are still fighting the trash mob.
Full rampager set sounds good and with trinkets I’ll put some in power, vitality and condition damage. About sigils, I have no idea…I used to have Major sigil of fire on my rifle but not sure if it’s worth it (I’m kinda low on money).
And for water fights, I usually kite because if I try to melee, they’ll kitten me in no time.
Alright, I’m having a lot of problems when doing a new build for a dungeon because most of the times, I have no idea what to do! For example, AC worked out well with a full DPS GS-Rifle build but sucked sooo much in HotW so now I have no idea on what gear/stats should I go with (basic rule for me is a stun-breaker, range weapon and group utility skill like “For great justice!”).
I almost exclusively do dungeons in PUG groups because none of my guildies do dungeons so I can’t really get any help from them.
Just want to know what kind of build/gear you warriors have because I got trashed with my toughness/support build a lot of times, maybe bad pug but just want to hear some feedback from you.
Thanks
Hey there,
Title pretty self explanatory but I am looking for a regular group, you know, with the same people, same time because nobody does HotW (at least in Jade Quarry) and guildies rarely do any dungeon .
I am usually available every day between 10pm (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) till 1-2am. Never done this dungeon before but I did AC so much that I developed a cancer lol.
I want preferably experienced people but anyone else is fine. Whisper me in game if you are interested!
BTW, just found out that Norn Heavy cultural armor lvl 3 has almost full cape!!
Look at the end of the video!
So now, I don’t see why capes aren’t implemented in the game
For charr capes, I thought about this
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/766-guild-cape-styles/
Look at the one on the center. Looks pretty kitten on a charr (or even norn). Charr already have a custom running animation so I can’t see why they shouldn’t have their custom capes.
I also thought about some kind of Guild banners ( think of it as warrior baanners but with your guild logo on it).
I thought they made a game for players…not for them? If someone wants a cape on his norn or charr character and think it looks cool, that’s his choice, his opinion because for example, a warrior asura is just NOT the right mental image for ME.
Guild capes are a lot better than armor emblems. They are more visible and they look awesome. I think with my suggestion we could fix most of the problems, but there are still some more (ex: when dodging, water, make it work on all races…). Hope someone will come across this thread and note my idea.
Hey there!
Ok, I am well aware of the clipping issues with capes and weapons but here’s my idea: why not make it a togglable option like helmets and shoulder piece armor? When it’s enabled, your weapons on your back won’t be displayed (but 1handed weapons like sword or scepter will be) and but your cape will so it will eliminate most of the clipping problems! And if you don’t want to show your cape, you just uncheck the box and your 2handed weapons will be displayed.
Excessive heat will explain it. But now the heat issues is taken care of, if the issue with GW1 still exists, I would say it’s something different. If you are playing on American servers with that ping that could be why your lagging. Where do you live? Cause with the pings you posted, it sounds as if you live outside the US.
What are your ping times for GW2? Check other MMOs and see if it’s an issue across all games. If so that would indicate a possible issue with your connection, if it’s just GW1, it’s more likely something going on in between (outside your local connection) or at their end.
As for the fans on your GPU, they should both be spinning at relatively the same speed, if the speed difference is very noticeable I would say that’s a problem. If the fan that is spinning slower is the one that got stuck, I would say it will probably go out soon. Sitting for a length of time with that much heat, and trying to spin but not able to, it’s probably damaged it. You might even consider returning the GPU for a replacement.
I live in Canada, Quebec so I think I should have a good ping but I’m lagging like hell and in GW2, I have no connection problems at all (don’t know how much but it’s very playable).
About my GPU fans, to my great surprise today, the fan that got stuck still didnt spin, I had to “give it a push” in order to make it work. They are spinning relatively at the same speed but I have to check it in order to be 100% sure. Do you have any suggestions on how to check its speed?
Alright, I opened the case (and got it out of the cubby hole) and I immediately noticed that only 1 fan was working on my GPU. I managed to make it work (there was a piece of plastic stuck) and I don’t have problems anymore. But I noticed that the GPU fans arents spinning at the same speed. Is that normal? And I think I’ll let my case out of the cubby hole.
Also, this doesn’t explain my problems with GW1. I get very high ping (100-300) in American servers but on international it gets around 60-120. I have a high speed internet and years ago, I never had any connexion problem. I played with my friend yesterday (lives close to my home) and he didnt have any problem.
Do you know for sure it’s your GPU and not your CPU fan making all the noise? Make sure your case is well ventilated. It sounds like you may have a ventilation issue. If it’s in a cubby hole (like some computer desks have) pull it out and run it in the open. The loud sound is most likely your GPU or CPU fan spinning up to try and cool the device.
If it is your GPU and the case is well ventilated, then I would recommend clocking your GPU back to stock speeds. GW2 seems to have an issue with OC’d GPUs.
Alright, will try this out. I’ll give you a feedback soon. And yes, it’s in a cubby hole but it never happened to me with my last build.
Hey there!
Just had a new build a few days ago coming with a Gigabyte Nvidia 560GTX 1GB Factory Overclocked (GV-N56GOC-1G) and it runs the game well but it makes A LOT of noise (about 60-70 db) and heat (after 10minutes, my case gets really hot), even when I’m playing on the lowest settings! Same thing for Guild Wars 1 and it also lagged a lot (played with a friend and I always randomly teleported).
I find this a bit odd because my old nvidia 9400GT never had these kind of problems. It always ran cool and very silent when I was playing GW2 on lowest settings.
Running on latest drivers/updates
Here’s my system:
-Intel i5-3450 3.1GHz
-Gigabyte Nvidia 560 GTX 1GB OC (GV-N56GOC-1G)
-Motherboard Asus P8B75M
-RAM 4×4GB Kingston Hyper X
-Monitor Acer x223w 1680 × 1050 22 inches
-Case Thermaltake VN400A1W2N
-PSU Coolmaster RS-500-PCAR-A3 500 watts
-OS Windows 7 Professional 64 bits
Alright, I’ve already posted 2 topics about how should I upgrade my computer but my father just told me today he intended to upgrade all computers in the house, including mine.
He said he wanted to build a more powerful system for me but didn’t specified how much so I assume not too expensive (at least better than my previous one).
Here are my current specs. Told him I could use an upgrade on RAM and GPU. Maybe OC the CPU but maybe change it? I also don’t want to change my monitor unless absolutely necessary, just saying a few bucks here.
So budget? No clue but don’t come here with a 3000$ rig that won’t pass, just a nice upgrade of my older one, something that can run GW2 at 40-50FPS average on high maybe but I think I ask for too much.
-Intel® Core™2 Quad CPUQ9550@ 2.83GHz
-Mother Board Gigabyte (G31M-S2L)
-RAM 4094mb
-Hard drive (primary) 465gb (WDC WD5000AADS-00S9B0 ATA Device) (271GB of free space)
-NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT
-High Definition Audio Device
-Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Operating system
-Monitor Acer X223W
-Case: Antec Sonata III 500 Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
-Power supply: Antec Earthwatts Model EA-500D 500W max
According to http://www.yougamers.com/gameometer/10542/ , my processor is WELL above the minimum settings and my GPU is slightly under the minimum requirements. Also, since I’m new to Overclocking, will this damage my computer or cause more noise?
Thanks for the replies!
Maybe you havent noticed it, but I planned to buy a nvidia 560GTX, click on the link for further information. And is it absolutely necessary to overclock my CPU? Because I have no knowledge on Overclocking.
Hey there,
Just want to know if I can run the game on high settings (or better) at about 40+fps with these specs:
-Intel® Core™2 Quad CPUQ9550@ 2.83GHz
-Mother Board Gigabyte (G31M-S2L)
-RAM 4094mb (CHAGING FOR 4 STICKS OF 2GB)
-Hard drive (primary) 465gb (WDC WD5000AADS-00S9B0 ATA Device) (271GB of free space)
-NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT (CHANGING FOR http://www.microbytes.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_24_25&products_id=39731&osCsid=f95dffd6c8ee421a40e4b2c8f6b02875)
-High Definition Audio Device
-Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Operating system
-Monitor Acer X223W
-Case: Antec Sonata III 500 Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
-Power supply: Antec Earthwatts Model EA-500D 500W max
I thought of upgrading my cooling system too but not sure if necessary and how to. Currently, I run the game on lowest settings and 1400X1050 resolution. Runs smoothly (at 30fps average with peaks of 50) except in WvWvW, dungeons or indoors.
Hey guys!
I finished Ascalon Catacombs story yesterday and kitten it was really hard but I managed to do it twice. Currently I am lvl 38 and I want to prepare myself for the Explore part but Im asking advice because I am prepared to do an entirely new build (buying major runes and Sigils aint cheap).
My current build is mostly focused on survival (10 points Honor, 10 points Valor and 7 points Virtues) and my entire gear is focused on Toughness and Vitality bonuses (all of them, including Minor Runes). I use almost all weapons but Staff and Mace+Sheild are the ones that I use more often. I also focus on revival (Protective healer trait) and it has worked out perfectly in Story. To compensate the lack of power in my build, I put the Minor sigil of Bloodlust on my Greatsword as well as some consumables.
So in order, my build priority would be Survival/Revive/Support.
Just want to know your opinion and if I should really change the way I am playing for my future build.
Thanks again.
Hey there!
Sorry for the late reply, many thanks for the answers!
Okay, I’ve spoke with my uncle and he says that a nvidia GTX560 may be too powerful for my system to handle (told me about bottlenecking). Also, what do you mean by cooling? Do you suggest me to overclock my 9550 with a water cooling system?
Again, thanks a lot! I should buy my new components soon.
Hey there everyone!
I bought Guild Wars 2 since day one and I have a lot of fun but my computer barely handles it so I just want to ask what kind of upgrade should I do? Running at lowest settings with 1400 × 1050 resolution. Most of the time, I get about 30-40 fps in open areas but in dungeons or inside buildings, I get like 15 to 25 fps.|
I don’t want to spend more than 300$ unless its absolutely necessary. Just want to run the game without lag and maybe crank up the graphics a little.
Here are my specs:
-Intel® Core™2 Quad CPUQ9550@ 2.83GHz
-Mother Board Gigabyte (G31M-S2L)
-RAM 4094mb
-Hard drive (primary) 465gb (WDC WD5000AADS-00S9B0 ATA Device) (271GB of free space)
-NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT (latest drivers 306.23)
-High Definition Audio Device
-Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Operating system
-Monitor Acer X223W
-Case: Antec Sonata III 500 Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
-Power supply: Antec Earthwatts Model EA-500D 500W max
Thanks again!
