Phaze [PHZE] is a PvX guild on HoD server looking to recruit. We do dungeons, FotM, WvW, tPvP, and 2 weekly guild missions. Fun and friend with some mature language. Whisper for invite.

My big question is, why has Anet not commented on this at all? We’re 8 pages in. Anet has been monitoring the forum and merging topics.

As Anet how to do you feel about your lack of integrity, by first destroying the value of human T3 culture armor, and then recanting the armor upsetting a paying player base?

I understand the screwed if you do and screwed if you don’t, but who messed up so bad to let this legitimately come into play. There are over 300 employees at Anet, did not one person speak up and say this was a bad idea?

This game has become like the movie Snakes on a Plane. People comment enough, they get what they want. So maybe if those who are upset on the opposing side comment enough to out balance those who commented for the change, the tide will shift yet again. Anet does what the players want, and it seems like a lot of paying players want their armor back. Maybe we just need to fill the forum with comments and will get our way like crying little babies.

This isn’t any different than returning something to WalMart or Toys R Us though. You return an item, they give you a gift card. (Yes, there’s a bit more to it, but you get the general point here. Let’s not nit pick)

You spent money on gems. You spent those gems on an armor set. They are refunding you the gems you purchased. You can use those gems at any time on any other item. Whether you do or not…. is no different than whether or not you use that gift card. Although, unlike that gift card, your gems will never expire.

I also don’t have to worry about Wal-Mart or Toys’R’Us coming into my house to steal what I purchased and then leaving something else in return. When I buy something from Wal-Mart, I get what I purchase. If Wal-Mart makes a mistake they usually honor their mistake by correcting the issue to keep the customer happy.

Gift cards also never expire in Canada.

Anet did not steal anything. We were told, in a dev post on here that the t3 skin would be replaced when they had the new one done.

It should not have been a surprise. It was known that it was going to happen. They have opted to refund the gems that were used to purchase the armor for those that wanted the refund. WTF else can they do?

Some people like the new reskin. Others do not. There is nothing they can do to make every single person happy.

You’re missing the point. Those are game mechanics, not purchased items.

You didn’t specify ‘only purchased’ items. And as it’s been stated, anyone that requests a refund is getting one.

“But its gems, not cash!” You realize it would probably cost them more in transaction fees to try to refund 10$ to everyone that demanded cash? Additionally, they would need time to verify that the person actually did purchase the gems with cash, and not gold?

Sounds like a company problem. I’m sure Digital River and PayPal would not like to be associated with companies that commit fraud. Any company I’ve dealt with that made a mistake like this honors it’s mistake and corrects it in the favor of the customer. Rogers messed up my contract promised me free upgrades, then told me I was going to have to pay for them. I informed them it was their clerical error and they sent me my new phones. This is Anet’s problem, not mine. I shouldn’t have to lose out because someone on the company’s end messed up.

Sorry you liked it and bought one but it should NEVER HAVE EXISTED and that’s the state they are working towards.

How many people from Anet saw this armor and approved it, before it hit the gem store? 10? 20? 30 maybe? They wanted to sell T3 armor because they knew people would buy it. Give me a break that Anet came up with the idea themselves to pull the plug on this. They need to take responsibility for it.

Bait-and-switch is a form of fraud used in retail sales but also employed in other contexts. The unfair gain is that I’m out $10USD, and I have the ability to get in-store credit, not a refund. Anet is still retaining my $10USD, GEMS have no out of game value. I can’t sell those GEMS to anyone. If I sell the gold I converted those GEMS into I’ll be removed from the game. I really don’t care about $10USD, it’s the principal of the matter that bothers me. They have now set a precedent that they can change anything even after purchase. This is morally and criminally wrong.

in a bait and switch scheme normally the replacement would already be in line to go out on purchase…but this has turned into said scheme because they made the blatant mistake of putting out the first set in the first place, than made it a borderline legal issue by removing it on the complaints of people who didn’t spend real money on it… and now have made it that much worse because they waited 2 entire months to do…this.. Yea, the people who spent real money in the end are not getting what was offered and paid for, and currently the best recourse they have is being offered the ability to get back gems from a store which we now know can have items sold through it changed without real warning, and without real consent. I say put original flamekissed back, give it back to everyone who had it, keep this new burlesque outfit they have in the gem store and have the original sell at a permanent merchant to all races once more for the normal price of t3 culture armor…and go ahead and put particles on other t3’s and sell em for 119g to all other races interested too.

Still fraud, no matter how you look at it.

The point still breaks down to, I spent real money to buy something. Now that something is taken away from me, and I can’t get my real money back. That’s not how real business is done.

This is not the armor I bought. I want a gem refund or my armor returned to human T3 with flames. How can you take something back after you sell it? That’s not how the barter systems works.

I seem to have found a whole in a mountain and fell into some uncharted waters which allowed me to map, gather ore, and kill things without being on the actual map. I believe those mountains are as solid as they look. As you can see in my attached photo, I’m stuck on the other side of the actual lake.

I remember GW1 had a report for those people who would Akitten PVP, can that please be added to GW2? I’ve played a lot of Dragon Ball and nothing ruins a game more than an AFK player. I wanted to report the many that did this, but there was no kitten heading under report. I didn’t not know if it was a bot, though they were scamming per say their title for Dragon Ball matches played.
