I bought the game this weekend, my surprise when I started today is that the game was unplayable. Never happened that to me before in GW1 pls help.
This is an issue that started for a lot of players upon the last patch/maintenance downtime. I’ve also had this lag issue start up and I’ve done some extensive testing to find that the issue is on the GW2 server side, not the client side or ISP side. I’m only stating this here for you since Anet has not made any mention of the issue and has not made a single statement on if they are even looking into it at all so do not expect a quick fix. Welcome to the “GW2 is unplayable” party.
I think they should have only 8bit music and graphics through out the entire game for the month Loving this event or atleast I WAS loving the event until I could no longer use a skill without game breaking lag spikes.
Anything beyond 60 FPS is a waste since you’ll barely notice any difference at all. I can make GW2 run at 120FPS very easily with my rig (I’m a VFX/CG artist) but the only difference I can tell is that my GPU fan is spinning faster than normal and my PC is getting hotter than normal, that’s it.
while this may be true, you’re always going to have the one dude who’s like LOOK AT MY UBER RIG PEOPLE!!!!
Very ture. But then I tell them the specs on my rig and they shut up real quick. Funny part is I built this rig for work, not for gaming, just so happens my work and gaming share the same components
and since it’s for work I can respect that. What I don’t understand are those people that get 80FPS in a game….spend $400 in new parts, and then at the end of it all get a whopping 81FPS and say they can totally see the difference -_-
but I know what your saying about your PC lol I built mine for everyday use, but it’s not afraid to get work and gaming done. Heck, when I build mine the parts were brand new but they were out in circulation for almost 1-2 years! And yet my little “old” AMD B60 quad core and my “old” Nvidia GTX460 has less problems running games than my friends who build these monsters that require an installment loan and possibly a kidney
$400 in parts for 1 FPS of improvement lol I’d rather drop $400 in the gem store
I just wish I had $400 not already spent on bills lmao
Preaching to the choir my friend lol

Yup, tried each different power setting to include my custom power profile and no change.
I clean out the inside of my PC once a week and it was last cleaned out on this past Sunday (yesterday) so that is not the issue.
Having the exact same issue here now as well. I’m on Fort Aspenwood server (we’re always getting bugs like this, avoid this server) and I’ve done everything possible on my end to correct the problem and it still is there. Everything is fine and dandy until I try to use a skill then I get a 2-3 second delay where the game freezes and then about 2-3 secs later it responds again but freezes/lags again the next time I use a skill. This is making anything involving any use of skills 100% unplayable. And before tech support tries to blame my end here’s what I tried:
Restarted client-no change
Restarted PC-no change
Reset and rebooted router and cable modem-no change
Uninstalled, restarted PC, and installed fresh version of GW2-no change
Updated all drivers 1 at a time testing GW2 before and after each driver update-no change
Monitored CPU temps and load during issue-no change
Monitored RAM temps and load during issue-no change
Monitored GPU temps and load during issue-no change
Installed fresh GW2 on 100% brand new machine which just had Windows 7 installed yesterday and all driver updated-no change
Connected using my neighbors wireless-no change
Connected using my smart phones HotSpot-no change
Monitored network bandwith and traffic with WireShark-no abnormal packets found or spot before, during, or after issue was present
Had Brighthouse test my physical cables and connections-no change
And before Anet blames my ISP I’ve connected with other online games and have had 0 connection issues so it’s not my end and it’s not my ISP, especially seeing as I connected with 3 different ISP’s (Brighthouse, Comcast, and AT&T). The other games I tested that worked 100% fine were EVE, WOW, SWTOR, Diablo 3, DayZ, Borderlands 2, Dead Island, Mass Effect 3, and Assassin’s Creed 3. None of those games gave me any issues at all using the online features so I am 100% sure the issue is not on my end or my ISP’s end.
As you can clearly see I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE WITHOUT BREAKING EUA/LUA to track it down on my end and no dice so it must be on the server side. I’ve noticed all the other posts from people about this issue and I see that not a single tech/PR person has commented on the issue so I will go ahead and play something else and maybe come back to GW2 once this issue is actually addressed and fixed. All these comments here and not a single reply from Anet makes me a very sad panda.

EDIT: The issue is not dust and crap in my case, I clean out my case once every week on Sunday so this can not be the issue. I’ve also tried guesting on other servers and I still had the exact same issue, didn’t seem any better or worse.

This is still bugged on my server (Fort Aspenwood). I have been camping it for a few hours now and have had the DE happen twice now and I can not use the catapult at all. I have tried what others have suggested here and nothing works. Someone else on my server heard that it was working on a diff server so he guested there and grab the vista then he came back to our server so this is bugged on my server (Fort Aspenwood). Please fix this bug since it has been around for more than 5 months now and people still can’t get completion without having to swap servers just for a single vista.
EDIT: Bug reported in-game as well. Pretty sad to have this kind of bug since release and have this many reports and nothing has been done about it.
