Having Guard Stacks on a freshly made level 2 toon should not happen.
Sure, so let’s limit it to level 80’s only. Would that not fix that issue? Then you have to at least work at a class and know the class in PVE before you get the bonuses.
What if I got level 80 by crafting? Being lvl 80 doesn’t mean you know your class, build or what that class is good/bad at in WvW.
To me, character bound is a good idea. My warrior has sacrificed his life many times over to uphold the pride of my guild, why should my thief be rewarded for his bravery in the line of battle?

LOL! Yeah you got a little crazy there! no I totally agree with this, and that is the hard line to balance. But there IS something to be said about your WvW experience as a player that you should be rewarded for, not just your warrior. Yes?
Not only something to be said, but more to be said.
I find that having wxp be soulbound has actually pushed me to play WvW with my alts more and has helped to further individualize them.
I want my characters to be specialized in certain things and I want them to each have their own accomplishment.
I’ve noticed that in the majority of all these complaints about this or that account-wide limitation being “bad for alts”… it’s never about alts being special and unique, it’s about players using them as generic build templates they want to swap between or using them to get around farming limits.
Too bad you cant chase a high rank/title like one character players can. USE YOUR HEAD. Alts are about having more fun and less redundancy. Five 80’s is five times more fun than one 80. USE YOUR HEAD.

your profession has nothing to do with how much youve played wvw, or with any of the mastery lines.
On the contrary it has EVERYTHING to do with how you are able to handle your profession and skills in wvw. If you are a level 50 warrior it is totally different from being a level 5 necro. Some classes are way easier to get wxp from.
I understand that people want things easy but wxp should be a toon xp measurement not an account wide. If you want an account wide then give the bonus that you can spend to account wide but a level 3/80 necro should not get a level 50 title simply because an alt played more wvw

Give us account based rank now, we can tell you are hiding something. Is there some kind of lame business world patent that stops you from doing it? If so just tell us so we can at least direct our insults where they need to go in the business community instead of the creative artistic side that seems to take the blame for degenerate economics.

why, because you only have one character? How selfish of you, considering lots of people have 4-8 characters.
If/When you guys finally wake up and make rank account based, don’t forget about the title fix that is needed in addition. These updates should have come in the spring with the culling fix. The last thing we want to do is wait another 6 months from the time you hopefully fix rank, so that we can actually display that fixed rank in lions arch, where anyone with a clue knows everybody wants to.

If levels were acquired in a resonable pace, I wouldn’t mind separate WXP for each character and newest patch is supposed to bring just that.
When will rank be account based so I can play all five of my characters instead of just one? Forcing people onto one character to compete for a high rank is really bad game design. This isn’t a matter of opinion when one takes the time to think about it. The rank title also needs to be able to be selected to be worn like all other titles so wvw players can show it in lions arch. <This is a no brainer. So please fix these atrocious wvw design flaws so you wont force people to leave in droves for other upcoming games who have a chance at not doing really stupid things like the rank and title mess up. Yours truly, a player who’s motivation to wvw and therefore play gw2 is hanging by a thread at this point.
Make rank account based deeeeerp. Multi toon players cant chase high rank which robs us of our motivatiooooooon. WVW is the new luxon vs kurzick and everybody loved their canthan faction titles. Lol alliance battle was the hottest thing to ever hit gw1. So we need our wvw titles in town. I cant believe I actually have to tell you this. It should just be obvious.
You really need to fix this devon. Right now only people with one toon can chase high rank. Most people have more than one toon (one is 20% as fun as five). We need to be able to chase high rank like people with only one toon. We also need to be able to show our wvw titles in lions arch like normal titles. WVW is gw2’s version of alliance battle and gw1 players loved their luxon and kurzick titles. We are all wondering why we cant display our titles in town. Also if the reason is pve only people that might cry and not want us to have titles just tell them to shove it.
I don’t understand why WvW players don’t have laurels. WvW is pretty much all I do and I had all my ascended gear except for one accessory which I just bought today from the WvW laurel vendor. The daily laurel quest has always been easy and is even more easy now. If you have made the choice in the past not to gear up by doing this ridiculously easy quest everyday during the course of playing WvW then you need to live with that choice now and stop complaining. You messed up by not taking advantage of the opportunities available, shut up and live with the consequences.
God I wish this was a wvw loading screen comment. Right in the middle there so all these whiners would just kitten already and deal with it.
We have been doing the dailies… We also have tons of badges eating bank space with nothing real to spend it on… Everyone has enough badges… It’s the fact that we have to wait on laurels to spend the badges.

Getting level 10 in fractals takes no time at all. You can get that ascended back piece at random starting at level 1 in fractals. You can get the rings at level 10. You can make decent money in fractals. You can get 20 slot bags from fractals.
People need to stop complaining. There are methods people can use to get these better gear pieces. If you guys are mad that pve players can get better gear and you can’t I don’t understand. Pve players are competing against the content, not other players. PVE PLAYERS GAIN NO ADVANTAGE OVER YOU, ONLY THE CONTENT THEY CHOOSE TO PLAY.

So your solution to Anet’s broken promises is to go play other elements of the game I hate… Yea lets all be apathetic and not voice our opinion and call everyone else a whiner because they have been keeping up on all the promises that have been called out and are sick and tired of Anet’s lack of attention and poor execution on WvW since launch. The problem isn’t even a problem. What do ascended pieces give you that you need? Marginal stat increases that only matter in small group combat if you are equally skilled. If not the difference between exotic and ascended doesn’t matter. Pve players who do fractals NEED ascended piece or they can not progress through the ranks. The fact that I am not fully geared in wvw does not prevent me from doing anything at all.
So no, don’t be apathetic. Be a reasonable person and realize that this game doesn’t revolve around you. They made the daily even easier to complete than it already was. They allow people guild missions. You have other opportunities to get these things if your lack of ascended gear is really this horrible. Suck it up and get it done.

stop telling us to play fractals. wvw demands equality with fractals.
if I was doing fractals for the last 4 months instead of wvw for 1000 hours I would have all my 5 toons in pink gear. Instead I chose to be a wvw player. now I have nothing to show for it. We need badges for pink straight up. Stop ripping off wvw players of their play time. The treatment of wvw players is disgusting.
We included the laurel cost to prevent the economy from suddenly being blown out and to not invalidate the ways PvE players can get ascended items already. This system means that it is faster to get them in WvW, especially for players who already have badges, without being so much faster that everyone only gets them in this manner. As for the difficulty of acquiring laurels in WvW, we have taken steps to address that, including the fact that there will always be 3 daily achievements that are WvW specific. Speaking personally, I’ve been able to achieve my dailies in WvW even without that change, but this should make it even easier.
Answer this.. What am I supposed to do with all the badges I have right now? I have 8 laurels, some ascended items, stacks of superior rams, arrow arts etc.. I am sitting on over 4000 badges rotting in my bank that I was hoping to finally spend. What do I use them for Devon?
You claim you don’t want to blow up the economy yet you neglect the WvW community for months and release a lame patch that does nothing new for us. At least let us trade badges for laurels and for kittens sake please give us a non fractal way to get an ascended back piece. Listen to the community. We have been screaming for months. The only reason you don’t see a mass exodus is because the next great game isn’t here yet.

Lolz. There is already a PvP system in place like that… called… um.. sPvP? Where everyone is limited to the same possible sets of gear, and you get to go in and stomp other players to your hearts content.

I find the WvW cost a bit too high on the laurels, simply because the pve crowd got a 6 month head start.
That should be calculated too, when comparing the ‘time cost’.Other than that, I still think the whole ascended gear idea is a bad joke, but that’s just my view on gearing up in this game.

encourage zerging means that if you need badges and wxp to buy ascended gear people will form huge 80 man death balls and fight open field instead of strategically manning multiple objectives in an attempt to maximize the number of badges and wxp they can get.

This is completely logical. Awarding ascended gear for merely badges/WXP would have encouraged zerging, and wouldn’t have been healthy for WvW in the long run.

I think most people are upset with the rate that laurels are earned. How many months to gear 1 character out with ascended in WvW only? I play 2 different lvl 80’s. Guess I have to pick which one gets the better gear this year, and who has to wait until next year. woot woot
ps: oh and i’m sure there are people with 8 lvl 80’s, bet they will have fun finally finishing all their characters in 2020.

People keep saying that laurels come in wvw as if it is an argument. They are thick. Laurels are for the laurel vendor in lions. They are farmed VERY SLOWLY. Stop designing a game that forces players to do fractals. Its about wvw fractal equality. Right now wvw players are second rate citizens and we’ve had enough. If I don’t want to do fractals and only want to wvw that is ok. Just be happy wvw gets more people to play your game and don’t try and force them to play fractals to not be a second class citizen of guild wars.
Omg why are laurels in the wvw merch? The laurel merch is in lions arch, this is so stupid it hurts. WVW was supposed to help wvw players catch up on their ascended rings with out having to do fractals like a pve scrub. This is not speeding it up as laurels still block progress for any wvw player forcing them to do fractals. Why are you forcing us to do fractals? Someone at A-nets needs to wake the kitten up fast before lots of people quit because they are messing up wvw motivation badly. Also we need to be able to wear our wvw titles in town.
