The last time I played the game was right around the time Flame and Frost was running. I was running Hammer/Staff at the time and loved it.
How is hammer doing these days? It looks like the traits got changed, so I’d need to get a new build to work with. I was actually working on building Juggernaut, but don’t want to go through with it if hammer isn’t a good weapon to main anymore. This is primarily for PvE, by the way. I go into WvW sometimes, but not very often. I want to say that my Guardian currently has a full Knight’s set right now, too. Not sure if that’s still a good option for hammer builds, either.
Any advice for me? Just trying to get back into it all right now.
So I’ve been leveling a Mesmer, and really been having a lot of fun with him (currently Lv43). I mainly use the staff, and it’s been great for leveling so far.
The issue is that I’m not really a huge fan of the other weapons, at least not enough to use them as much as I use the staff. How’s the staff at endgame though? The few times I’ve gone into WvW, I just don’t feel like I’m contributing as much as I did on, say, my Guardian. The staff auto seems to hardly make it to its target before they either run away or die. It seems like the only way I can really tag anything are the times when Chaos Field isn’t on cooldown.
I’m sure part of it is that I’m still learning how to play the class. I just want to make sure staff is a viable WvW and PvE option at 80 before really investing the time into it, if that makes sense.
