You don’t have to pay to ‘replay’ it, you only have to pay to unlock it and play it forever if you missed the window to obtain the story content at no cost whatsoever.
Oh yeah that’s true, got confused, but I’m guessing I could bring them into the instances as well if i partied of with some of them.
Personally I can’t convince anyone to play (new or returning) anymore, despite my attempts. Not because I have nothing to recommend because there’s plenty I can say positively about the game, but I can’t explain the Living Story to people that makes them want to pay the 200gem an episode catch up fee.
Never thought about that fee, kitten huh, guess there is now some parts of the game they would have to pay for. I like the living story that it “changes” the world, but why would you have to pay to replay it?
Been playing guild wars for some time now, though I’ve been mostly on and off, I drop in complete some living story, play some PvP, a litte bit of WvW sometimes, and I really enjoy my time. Though I feel all the areas are somewhat lacking, not to say there is a lack of content, just saying that what is represented in the three separate modes is all very similar. PvP has gotten a lot of upgrades, but is still lacking in different game modes. Stuff like alliance mode from the original gw or GVG. And Yes I do know you can arrange that in wvw, but maps made for the mode makes the experience so much tighter and more focused, as well as easier to simply play it. You could even have pvp modes effect certain event chains or bosses.
In PvE we have all these beautiful fields and maps to go explore, for there aren’t any real incentives besides boss events and dailies. There are the different chests and bosses too, but often there is Mesmer to simply speed up the process, which I understand, because doing most event chains simply aren’t as rewarding compared to time spend, now that Champions drop loot bags. I thought the revised trait system would give more incentive to go explore, but it simply is not the same as the elite skills from gw and can’t really be either. Having rewards for completing event chains, or maybe placing more small, but also harder, bosses around the maps could have certain loot as well. I remember in gw how you could go for extremely hard bosses in the wild, and them having a chance to drop items, could net you some extra income. I will say the new maps in the maguuma are rather nice. There are actually plenty more incentives to go explore, but I think for them to really work the rewards needs to increase in value, it could be exlusive rewards for different maps, but honestly not sure.
Mechanicly I like the game it’s great. But all the friends I have who also played have dropped out, the nice the about guild wars is that they can return, but right now I’m not sure I can convince them, what is the big pull that will hook them in? what will keep me playing, so far I simply just still enjoy going for pvp and trying out new trait setups, but I’ve been doing that for a long time now. Please let 2015 be something magical for guild wars.
After reading the latest path note, i started wondering a potion could be added, it would give you 100 % MF, but it would make you vulnerable to others that consume the same potion, you could make it 80 only, but i haven’t given it too much thought for now, but i was thinking it could spice thinks up with a nice risk reward.
