This is actually a situation that can be overcome with brains rather than brawn.

Remember that hallway full of traps you passed through on your way to the room with the abomination?

(Now, the fight AFTER the abomination… that one is tough. I had to kite and abuse the AI a fair bit to win that one as a squishy mage.)

Have you actually tried doing it this way? The veteran might kill me in 2 hits but the traps will kill in 1. I don’t see where you will find the time to wait for the traps .

I’m having the same problem. As an elementalist you don’t have any option but to run as the Veteran just goes for you and not the NCP’s or my elemental.

I’m having major trouble with the Mazdak part of my story quest (Dead of Winter). Its not the Mazdak fight itself, but the veteran in the room before. The first time I tried this fight I got to Mazdak and died a few times as I refused to read up on it and was looking forward to the challenge of working it out for myself. After seeing that my armor was low I went for repairs and came back. Now every time I go in I can’t get past the Veteran in the room before Mazdak as it seems to be bugged. When I get there with my full complement of NCP’s they seem to die very fast then the veteran chases me around and kills me. When I res and even manage to res another NCP it won’t stop attacking me and I end up running around the room until it eventually kills me. I’m an Elementalist and have tried to allow the NCP to attack and tried using my Elementals to attack but it just goes for me!. This means that I can’t attack it, the other NCP’s don’t distract it so I can res more of them and the elemental has no effect on it.

This is ridiculous as and needs to be looked at. I really enjoy a challenge, but when your stuck in a situation where you can’t do anything it just ruins the game completely.

I have tried it from levels 28 and now at 60 and still the same thing happens. Even if I don’t attack it at all it just goes straight for me and leaves me helpless.

I’m don’t consider myself a bad player and can dodge and change my attunement due to what is needed at the time, but i’m not giving an opportunity to do anything but run.
