There is so much self entitlement going on in the GW2 community surrounding the release of HoT. Call it not, if you wish, but it is what it is. Just because you stood around for hours does NOT mean that you deserve anything as compensation. You could have been testing the rest of the BETA content that was available and working. Anet did not say “Stand by the raid portal aimlessly while we work vigorously until 3AM our time attempting to resolve this issue.” That was your choice not to be doing something more productive, for lack of a better word. You did purchase the $50+ expansion, however that was with intent to play the expansion and have it working as intended, NOT for the BETA weekend which was graciously offered. You are not owed anything from this company until October 23rd. Get a hold of yourselves people.
On a side not, thank you dev team and mods for your work. I, like the rest, was genuinely looking forward to the raid testing but.. that’s what BETA weekends are for right? Finding this kind of bug/hole and patching it prior to expansion release. You guys do an excellent job, and thank you for keeping the lines of communication open with updates and all. BTW, the Reaper is awesome. Don’t change it at all.
well beta is beta, but then again if you are essentially selling beta accekittenanges the relationship.
anyhow less worry about compensation, and more worry about the fact that a lot of this stuff seems like it needs to be tested live, but they dont have that sort of system in place.I trust that Arena Net will take care of their passionate fan base, as well as their … passionate customers surrounding HoT release. It just doesn’t help anything when people react to an adult situation like they are children. Last I checked, kicking and screaming while sitting in the shopping mart went by the wayside around the same time as diapers. I hope, too, that everything is in working order Oct. 23rd., don’t get me wrong, but I’m not going to scream and cry and bash Anet surrounding a BETA weekend (meant to discover faults) about a fault!
actually being quiet about your gripes is not the best way to handle anything. The people who ask for a lot and make their desires known get pretty far. It boils down to personality types, but it has been shown that the demanding people are more effective.
yeah, it may be annoying but its actually more effective, Even for developers, the worst thing is silence and the belief some one magically always knows what you want.
I agree. Nothing will ever be repaired, amended or altered in the way that it needs with silence. However, I never said to be silent about issues. I just stated that we, as consumer adults, should not be acting like children. Being a child may be more effective, but it’s pathetic.
