I have been trying to craft nevermore and really do need some help
Everything is so dam expensive to craft and so hard to farm. It doesnt help that I never had any Gold to start with (had 5G when i logged on again after 2years).

Right now I am trying to craft the Ravenwood Branch and struggling with it (them Spiritwoods are so hard to craft) . No idea how I am gonna manage all the other steps like Gift of Might/Magic/Energy or Icy Runestones or even the other parts like Part II/III/IV

I would appreciate any help I can get since I feel like I am look at an endless abyss in front of me Thanks for even reading this and I know this is a real crazy ask tbh but just felt like i need all the help i can get

Creating a Raid group for all

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Dante.8965

Hi all,

I am planning on creating a/multiple raid groups for people who would love to do raids and also learn how to do them.

I am also starting in doing raids so dont worry if you do not have any good gear or worried about not meeting the minimum requirements, as I will be organizing on the basis of people being new and not having crazy amount of time to farm and craft all ascended gear.

If you are interested in getting started with raids or already have done raids before and are looking for groups to do it with, let me know.

You can message me in game or leave comments here. Hopefully we can get multiple groups ready for raiding at different times so that people in different time zones other than the US-time zone can join in too.

I also will have a discord server up and running if there is interest so that we can get things up and running.

Advice on getting into raids

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Firstly find out which character you like to play the most since it will require some investment in getting into raiding.

Once you find out which character you like to play the most, I suggest you unlock the specialization for that class fully. For example: Ranger = Druid which is great for healing and dps buff in raiding. Each class can play different roles depending on the team composition. Find out which role you would enjoy playing most.

There are really good guide in places like Duffy and Meta battles on the mechanics of the bosses and what to do during different phase. I suggest you also read that.

Lastly but one of great importance most groups dont seem to like people who are not properly geared up. I suggest at least having all ascended trinkets and maybe an ascended weapon.

Ascended trinkets can be obtained very easily if you know how to get about getting it. For ascended Rings the most easiest and cheapest method is to do Fractals and complete the daily fractals which rewards you with pristine fractal token which can be used to exchange for ascended rings. As for other trinkets the most cheapest method is to take part in guild missions and save your guild commendations which can be used to exchange for the other ascended trinkets (do not waste this on getting ascended rings). I recommend using the guild commendations to buy the earring trinkets and then you can use laurels to purchase the necklace from the WvWvW laurel trader (he is the cheapest),

As for getting really cheap ascended weapons I suggest you complete the specialization collections for the weapon that you need. For example Druid specialization collection will give you a ascended staff when completed same with the Daredevil one.

Hope this helps you and other people.

Hi,
I have a lvl80 guardian which is my main, a lvl79 ranger and some more toons.
I am looking for a friendly active PvP/PvE guild that does a lot of things together.

I m based in Auckland, New Zealand (+12GMT) so the times i play are like very late US times.

So if you think your guild is something that i am looking for please let me know.

cheers

BTW i dont mind changing servers if your guild is in another server

Retaliation PvE and WvW spec?

in Guardian

Hey for WvWvW i would recommend that you go scepter/focus and GS (also have a hammer ready). So your traits stay the same pretty much for this because you wont be going solo for long since people on the same server are always around.. I usually have the scepter and focus as my main so i can range attack and hold people in place while the people i m running with just kill the person targeted. the focus is really good because of all the protection/blocks that skill 5 on your bar gives you and also skill 4 on your bar is awesome as well. If the target is attacking me i usually switch to GS if more then one person do whirl wind, do that blinding skill and run away. be ready to switch to scepter/focus real quick because it can save you from being spiked like crazy. sometimes i go hammer instead of GS so i can bind people and knock them around also bunch them up (skill 5) in a group for my team mates to spike them.

i don’t know if this helps but let me know if you like my build and style or if you think there is a better way to do something because i m still learning to use my Guardian to the max.

Retaliation PvE and WvW spec?

in Guardian

Hey dude, from my point of view I would not rely too much on retaliation at all since u still all the damage that you are dealt. and plus retaliation is mainly based on how much power you have which means going all into zeal and that would mean less survivability.

I would suggest that you try going 0/15/30/20/5 it doesn’t have awesome DPS (then again guardians are not about burst DPS but constant over time damage), but that build gives you awesome survivability and quite nice damage output. At start I as well like you went retaliation but it didn’t cut it for me in WvWvW and dungeons at all. Mobs in dungeon hit way too hard for you to survive on retaliation and as for WvWvW it’s awesome if you’re against 1v1 and tbh there never really is much 1v1 there.

The build outlined provides a lot of toughness and vitality while at the same time not too much decrease in power. Depending on your preferred weapon you can choose your traits. For me I personally love the guardian Hammer and Great Sword it’s got awesome aoe and hammer as awesome crowd control.

I’ll outline my build so that you know the general idea how to use it.
My preferred weapons of choice are Great Sword and Hammer. I usually have all the other weapons that a guardian can use just because you never know when you are gonna need those. (Like for me I found out that the guardian staffs are one of the best weapons for clearing the poison pods in TA explorable)

The 15 points in radiance are pretty good due to the fact that activating virtue of justice blinds enemies and it recharges every time I kill something. If I am against a boss or mobs that have boons on them then in the Radiance trait I go Searing Flames otherwise I usually leave it at Signet mastery due to the fact that I use the signet heal.

As for Valor that’s pretty much the bread and butter in this build. The 30 points in it gives you a lot of choices. My usual set up is Purity trait so that I can lose a condition every 10sec and with my Signet it should come down to every 5sec (I am not too sure if these stack.) then for the second trait I go Glacial Heart so that enemies can’t run away from me when I am using the hammer. As for the 3rd trait I use Altruistic Healing which heals me has I apply boons. When I am with groups and doing something hard I usually go Strength in Numbers instead of Glacial Heart so that my party members gain a bit more armor.

In the Honor trait line there are a variety of choices available as well. I usually use Superior Aria which cuts down my shout recharge time by 20% it’s very helpful then I go two Two-Handed Mastery which cuts my skill recharge time by 20% as well which is awesome. If in group you can always change things up to help the party members like switching Two-Handed Mastery for Empowering Might or Two-Handed Mastery and so on.

As for armor i would go for either toughness + healing or Vitality all armor pieces with Superior Runes of the Soldier or similar. But in the end its all up to you.

Now that i finished writing all this up i realize that i wrote a kitten load. Hope this helps though.

Hi guys you know that guild wars had Fissure of Woe and Underworld and not forgetting Domain of Anguish as the elite farming area. So i was wondering if there is still an Underworld in GW2 or some sort of similar elite farming area that you could go to?
