Sorry that I kind of re-open this thread again, but unfortunately I experience the same problem that GW2 persists downloading the last file, no matter if I choose for DNS 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 or if I use the ones namebench qualifies as being the best for my connection (attached screenshot for illustration).
Also tried all other given solutions (also by the GW2 support):
- delete old gw2.dat and use downloaded setup client instead the one provided on the DVD
- Deactivate all system start items in MSCONFIG
- Deactivate all services in MSCONFIG except Microsoft ones
- gw2.exe -repair
- gw2.exe -diag (all tests successful)
I’m running a Huawei E180 mobile internet connection with max 7.2 MBit/s, could that be a possible reason why it’s not working as it might be too slow?
