Runspeed increase?

With Chronomancer getting that minor trait to buff their speed, will leave only Guardian (And possibly Revenant) as the class(es) without access to ANY passive speed boost.

Which makes me very sad, since Guardians are supposed to be on the FRONT LINES, taking hits so their allies don’t have to.

Tell me.. Exactly HOW are they supposed to do that when they’re so kitten ed slow they arrive at a battle.. AFTER EVERYTHING IS ALREADY DEAD?!

Guardian, my verdict on your class.....

I love my 2 Guardians.
I’ve found that as a Guardian, you can group up with just about any other class and create a 2-person army of sorts.

A Guardian in PvE will complement just about any other class, giving them support they can use. If nothing else, they can make a decent meatshield.

When leveling my Elementalist, my best times were when I was grouped up with a random Guardian I found.

I’ve said before that Conjures might get more builds dedicated to one or more if they were more like Weapon Kits.
As they are, they are basically severely nerfed versions of Weapon Kits.
The timer is much lower (Weapon Kits CAN run out, but it takes long time), they have charges, which imo needlessly limits them on top of the timer, and their cooldowns tend to take a long time as well.
2 of these 3 limitations on Conjures I can work with. All 3 of them is just too much.

On a more related note: Ele skills are already limited by the immense cooldown on the individual skills. Why should we get locked out of an attunement for 10~15 seconds?

All this current system encourages is for Ele’s to blow all their CDs, swap to next attune, blow those CDs, swap to next attune, blow THOSE CDs, swap to next attune, blow some more CDs, swap to first attune and repeat the whole cycle till their target(or they themselves, seems more likely in some cases) are dead.

Put internal CDs on the swapping traits, and let us be the versatile mage class we were meant to be.
I don’t think Ele’s would suddenly become over-powered in the AK-47 sense.
They still have their massive skill cooldowns they need to worry about.

That is Anet’s secret new plan for ele’s. We did too much damage so now all we can do is toss hearts at our enemies and then we insta-die.

..What’s so secret about this plan?
Seems to me that ANet has some sort of unexplained hatred of Elementalists.

And going by what I’ve read on the forums..
Isn’t “toss hearts(probably your own, Zelda style) at our enemies and then we insta-die.” the thing that’s already happening?

I don’t know how often, if at all, this has been brought up:
Please remove either the timer or the charges from the Conjures.
Let us play them more like a Weapon Kit. Giving us 2 limits on the weapon we summon into existence feels way too restricting to me, and I just plain don’t use them at all as a result.
I can fill the slot with a skill that I actually feel right using, rather than something that will needlessly limit me even further.

Personally, I’d love to see the charges mechanic removed. Then we won’t have to worry about not being able to use our other skills because we spent all the charges on auto-attacking.

Just my two cents, do with it what you will.

In a game which they advertised for months/years on end of not requiring a healer or tank, sticking ele as support just sucks balls.

Never played healer/tank in any game, didn`t want to in a game that isn`t meant to have them either.

If they really want to make ele only support, they`re kittening the class over enough to make it not even good enough for that.

To go support, you can`t play heal builds/gear, because you`ll still be 1-3 shot by most other classes & having to rely on other players/pugs to keep ressing you is just a waste of time, meaning you`re just as useless as ever & should be using a guardian instead.

Plus they`re page states: “What they lack in physical toughness, they make up in versatility and the ability to inflict massive damage in a single attack.”

We all know that is bullkitten &/or they mistook the class for thief.
So either they up our damage or up our base hp/armours etc.

Also, even if they do that, you`ll still be one of the slowest classes with no weapon swap, which every other class can do much better.

Stick Ele in a support role? I thought GW2 was supposed to NOT have ‘dedicated’ support/healing roles?

I don’t PvP or WvW, and reading all this, I’m glad that I don’t.
I love Elementalist, I really do.. but ANet seems to have some sort of grudge against the profession or something.
I don’t get it, did an Elementalist burn down their puppy when they were a kid or something, and they’re getting metaphorical revenge by doing this?

Seriously, what the kitten, ANet?

Give us what you promised us! A versatile class, with the ability to “inflict massive damage in a single attack”.

..I’m getting way to worked up over this. It’s come that far.

I agree with Rulakh.
We should be able to specialize in 1/2 elements and still be viable.
Right now, everybody sorta loses their mind when I say that I hardly ever leave Fire attunement with Staff.
“You have to rotate your attunements or your wasting DPS/utility/potential!”

Honestly, I don’t get it. I get by just fine with my Fire Staff playing. Sure, I’m a bit squishy, but that’s what mages do, right? They deal damage, but are less capable of taking it.

We need a bar!

I have a nice Norn Ele that tends to use just Fire Staff.
The cooldowns are okay, my main damage tends to come from #2 skill, which is fine.
But you wouldn’t believe how often everybody goes “But you can’t stay in 1 attunement, you’re killing your DPS/utility!”.
..If I want to play as pure Fire mage, shouldn’t I have that option and not be penalized for it?

I agree that they should make the individual trait lines a bit better for their specific element, with Arcana covering all the elements and focusing on attune dancing.
Giving Ele’s the choice of specializing in 2 elements and being more effective at those, and less in the others, or spread it out a bit, with Arcana making it easier to ‘dance’ your attunements and boosting the effectiveness of all 4 so you won’t fall off in a group.
Speaking of which, I don’t understand why they put that CD on the attunes.
As said, Engi’s don’t have it on their kits, and as far as I know, they’re not amazingly overpowered. I could work with a minor CD, like 1~2 seconds. Not the 10s we got now, which forces dancers into a rotation. And makes me go “Pff, I’m sticking with Fire, that’s where the damage is.”

Personally, I’d love to see an AH virtue, because needing to go 30 deep into a tree just to have some decent sustainability is nuts.
It would open up the Guardian to be more aggressive, and protect their allies better by helping to kill the enemy more effectively.

On the weapons front: I’d -love- to see Guardian get Pistol skills. I’d prefer mainhand, so I can pewpew from behind my shield.
Maybe make it apply some mobility conditions, so we can stop everybody and their grandma from running away.

I’d also like to get a signet or trait that improves our movement speed, as listed earlier.
I thought a Guardian is supposed to be near the front lines, soaking up damage so their allies don’t have to. Then why are we one of the few classes that has no passive speed boost?
Think about it for a bit, it doesn’t make any sense.

How about they also add a chance for the ticket or a random skin to drop from slain Molten enemies?
It would give me and everyone I’ve talked to about it a reason to keep fighting them.
As it is, I just try to avoid them altogether, because they’re more annoying than challenging to fight.

It would also appease the people that don’t want to spend gems on the keys, but still like the skins.
Instead of spending cash to get them, you have to put in a lot of effort.
Should probly make the skins account bound if they are added, to prevent everyone from farming them just to make a quick buck on the trade post.

Personally, I wouldn’t be opposed to paying say, 1000 gems to upgrade my DDE Golem Banker to a version that will always be available to me.

I can see the reasoning behind not giving it straight up, but everybody I’ve talked to about it in-game isn’t using Bank Access from the Gem Store. They’re taking the extra time to just find a bank.

Let us invest in a permanent Banker Golem, and I have a strong feeling a lot of people will pay the gems for it.

Since you’ll mostly use the Utility Skills in combat, I could get behind this option.

Would make swapping the skills out easier and quicker, for those that want the option.
And for those that like it the way things are now: Leave the option off.
