Legendary weapons

OK I would like MO or another dev to please explain to me and others what they actually mean by ‘indefinitely suspended’. I know a lot of people take this to mean CANCELLED, but when I read the post I took it as literally the ‘indefinitely suspended’, as in, work is on hold and we don’t have a time frame in mind to resume. So is this a case of ‘we are shifting devs from legendaries to Living World till we get that in a good place and can be more sustainable, then move back to legendary weapons’ or is this actually a ‘we are stopping the production of legendary weapons for the foreseeable future’? I know they probably don’t wanna say they aren’t gonna make anymore legendaries, but honestly with everyone already assuming they are cancelled, I can’t see them confirming it as too much more damage. I just wanna know if I’m wrong in believing they are on hold till they can get out of this content drought.

Ideas to Change Nameplate Rewards

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Hey guys! Was talking with a friend about our Nameplates and how they seem to be getting crowded with little things, which is a very obvious thing people have been talking about. So one idea would be to have it to where you can only display one thing on your name plate, which you can switch in your achievement pane, much like you would choose a title. Also, maybe a UI option to not show any other players things.

Now the problem is, I I kind of like having a way to show off to people just from having them click on me and seeing things. So going forward I thought of a way to award people for other account achievements may be a portrait border! Kind of like how Monsters will have different borders around them denoting things like being a Legendary boss, or a Champion, maybe we could get something like that for players. Like if you get Legendary Rank EVER, you get this permanent ability to give your portrait a Legendary border. You could show the little gem on your nameplate whenever you are currently in that division, but this way you could show off that you at least have SEEN that division, and it doesn’t crowd your name. Or maybe those little gems would be removed completely?

What do you guys think? Would portrait borders be something that would be fun to earn and display, or would they just not feel important? I am pretty sure the suggestions to clean up our nameplates has been talked about before, but I wanted to add on a way to add rewards to our characters name and such without clogging it up more

New Mastery Idea: Make Parties Matter!

Yeah I can see that happening, but what if it still worked, but the bonus still capped out at 5 players? So joining a squad would still give the bonus, but you wouldn’t be seeing people with like 100% boost to everything.

I can understand honestly that there would then be people partying just for rewards, and as such, the interactions still wouldn’t be there. Still, having some small incentive to party up and work together I don’t think would be a terrible idea. The rewards and buffs would have to be somewhere in between ‘not very noticeable’ and ‘never leave home without it’ in my opinion. Like they need to be a nice little bonus, and a push to get people into working in parties, but you aren’t really losing much if you just wanna solo and not interact with people.

But also, on the idea of veteran players helping out newer players, what about the idea of a mentoring mastery? The Pact Commander track really didn’t do it for me, so a mastery focused on helping out newer, or lower leveled players advance might be a nice touch? Like maybe a tier will give all lower level players in your party an extra effective level, like your mere presence is empowering them to do better. Along with an exp boost and such?

I could actually see this Mastery being called Mentor now honestly. It would obviously need rewards for the player with the actual Mastery as well? Maybe like extra resources while partied with a lower level character? Or gain a spirit shard whenever a party member gains a level? I’m not sure, but I love the discussion of new Masteries, like I have said!

well see I think it would be ‘ok’ cause you would have the older players on their alts in the zone, interacting with newer players. But maybe something like from levels 1-15, you get an exp boost from partying with other players in the starter maps?

Oh yeah, nothing do with damaging, but it would also help with leveling alts too! I like the idea of a bunch of guildies, or just random people in the starter maps partying up to get an exp boost as they level! It is a fun way for veteran players, who would have the mastery, interact with new players, party with them and show them around!

So one of my favorite things when I do like a World Boss farm, is to party up with people, this has led to many great conversations and interactions. The problem is, besides helping get someone back on a map if they DC, there is pretty much no reason to do it. Whenever people call for LFG while waiting for a boss, it is almost always met with people saying there is no reason to do it, which to be fair, there really isn’t. Partying with people on a map to do an event really does help bring that interaction with the community though, like you are working together for the same goal. I had an idea to hopefully give an incentive for people to party up, that being a new central Tyrian Mastery Line.

No idea what to really name it, but for now lets just call it ‘Grouping’. To be honest, I got this idea partly from playing Star Wars: The Old Republic, which grants exp boosts and such when you party up with other players. My idea would have this mastery grant certain boosts and extra rewards to people who party up with members that have the mastery. I am really shaky on how many tiers I would like it to have, and what they should all unlock, but I have a pretty good idea what I think the last line should be. I think by the end, it would be nice if it granted each party member a boost to exp and karma for every member in the party, maybe like 2% for each player. On top of this though, a boost to magic find for each player, but also, have this Magic Find boost effect giant reward chest that spawn after killing World Bosses and such. I really like the idea that people that play together are rewarded for working together, but this encouraging players to group together can also help to get people to interact with their community, make some friends and feel like you really are playing with real people!

So what do you guys think, any ideas on how to improve this, or am I off the mark for suggesting something like this? What other rewards and tiers should be unlocked. Also, how should it work for squads? Have a higher cap on the boosts, or none at all? I for one am really looking forward to new Masteries, and I would really like to see partying up with people be something people look forward to doing. (Also is Anet even looking for suggestions on new Masteries?)

Scaling issue mushroom chunk collection

The event in Tangled Depths at Teku Nuhoch where you collect mushroom chunks to feed the beetles seems to have a problem with scaling. The event takes forever to complete with 10 people. I just feel like the scaling should be reviewed.

Merchant quality of life suggestion

So I just had a small thought for a change to vendors, and that would be an option to buy more than one thing at a time. Like you go to a Weaponsmith and want to buy enough Thermocatalytic Reagents to do some crafting, instead of sitting there and clicking a few times, you could right click and choose like ‘Buy 1, Buy 5, Buy 10, Buy 20,… etc.’ maybe even a ‘Buy x’ option would be nice. What do you guys think? It is just something small that wouldn’t really impact the game or be annoying without, just something to make crafting a little bit smoother.

My guild had this problem too, it seems to happen when you upgrade another structure in the hall. Hopefully they can patch this, but for now we found just everyone leaving the Hall then reloading it fresh fixes it.

Waypointing too much crashes client

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Darkddmaster.4695

So I had this problem last night, where I was waypointing across the maps, searching for the Pact Supply merchants. It seems that if I waypoint too many times, it cause the client to crash, and then, when I try and reload if I select that character again, the client crashes again. I can select and play other characters, but if I get a loading screen or a map transition, the game crashes, and then that character will also crash the game when selected. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Cant get in/out of Snowden Drifts

UPDATE: Ok so it isn’t Snowden Drifts, it is any map transition. I now have 3 characters that when I log in on them, I immediately crash, and get the same error. I can log in and be fine as long as I get no type of loading screen or map transition, but that basically means I cannot play on my account at all right now. Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Darkddmaster.4695

Hey guys, so I just took one of my characters to Snowden Drifts looking for those Pact Merchants, and I got an error as soon as I clicked on a Waypoint in Snowden Drifts, and my client crashed. I thought it may have just been the 64-bit beta client, but even on the normal client if I select that character I just get an error, and my game crashes. I can log in on other characters though, so I figure it isn’t on my end. I have a screenshot of the error message I get whenever I try and select my character that I have attached. Just wanting to know if this is just something happening server wide, or if I may have a problem on my end? Thanks for any help!

It has been pretty good, but the Gyro’s just seem to be too short lived. The toolbelt skill for the medic gyro feels like it should have a small heal on it maybe? Also I would feel better if the medic gyro lived longer few more heal pulses, with a smaller initial heal? The hammer feels great though!
